The East Liverpool Rotary Club recently donated $1,500 to the East Liverpool-Calcutta Area Garden Club at Thompson Park. According to the Garden Club’s president Lisa Chronister, the donation was in response to a challenge by the Calcutta Rotary Club, which had donated $1,500 to a project to construct stairs down to Pavilion #1. Members of the Garden Club will use these funds towards landscaping around the area, which will be the site of both Rotary clubs’ annual Oktoberfest on Saturday, Sept. 25. The total project cost $18,000. If interested in joining either the Calcutta or the East Liverpool Rotary, contact either organization through their Facebook pages. (Photo by Stephanie Ujhelyi)
