Water line replacement
EAST LIVERPOOL — The water main replacement under the Elizabeth Street bridge is currently being installed under the railroad tracks. To connect to the existing system the water will have to be shut down two times. The first time will be as early as Tuesday. The second time will be announced at a later date. The system will be shutdown at 7 a.m. until completion to connect the new main water line and cap off the old water line under the bridge. The following areas will be affected: Harvey Avenue from Bridge Street to Putnam Street. The following businesses will be affected: Hall China, TJ Express Lube, Savors Auto Connection and East End Lumber. The residents in this area will also be affected. No boil order is needed. The shutdown will be for approximately six to eight hours.
A kick-off to promote a free girls youth development, GLOW, Girls Leading Our World (grades 5-12), will be held from 1 to 4 p.m. Saturday at The First Presbyterian Church, 28 E. Park Ave., Columbiana. The free event will include tie-dye, succulent planting, arts & crafts, fair games, yoga and snacks.
Free community dinner
Trinity Parish Presbyterian Church will host the Free Community Dinner from 3 to 5 p.m. Saturday at the Wells School Bingo Hall building in Newell. Come to the back of the building and up the ramp. This meal is take out and eat in. This month’s dinner is hot sausage or meatball sandwich, cole slaw, roast potatoes and dessert.
