The Fairfield Township Board of Zoning Appeals will hold a public hearing regarding a variance for accessory structure location at 44809 state Route 517, Columbiana, at 6:30 p.m. Sept. 27 in the Swope Meeting Room of the Fairfield Township Administration Building located at 3062 Fairfield School Road. Youth Day event
The 38th annual Youth Day event at The Salem Hunting Club, 564 N. Indiana Ave., is free and open to girls and boys ages 8 to 15. All kids will receive T-shirts, there will be free food and kids can participate in archery, .22 rifle, black powder and trap under the supervision of range officers. Trophies will be awarded to the best shooters in each age bracket. Yard of the month
Nominations are now being accepted by the Southern Columbiana County Chamber of Commerce for the East Liverpool/Calcutta Garden Club September yard of the month. Those submitting nominations are asked to include the name, address and phone number if possible. Nominations will be taken until Sept. 26. The Association of Fundraising Professionals (AFP) Mahoning-Shengnago (MASH) will hold a Philanthropy Trends workshop featuring Paul McFadden Thursday, Sept. 30 at Drakes Landing at 2177 Western Reserve Road W., Poland. The workshop, “Current Trends in Philanthropy and Lessons Learned,” will begin with lunch at noon. The speaker, Paul McFadden, president of the Youngstown State University Foundation, will share lessons learned during YSU’s $125 million dollar campaign. The “We See Tomorrow” campaign is the largest fundraiser in YSU’s 109-year history, and funds a variety of initiatives at YSU. The Columbiana Women’s Club (CWC), in conjunction with Sally Sabota, is hosting complimentary Bridge Lessons from 10 a.m. to noon Tuesdays starting Sept. 28 and running through Nov. 16.
