Yellow Creek trustees

The Yellow Creek Township trustees will meet tonight at 7 p.m. at the township building, Oak Ridge Road.

SR meeting canceled

The South Range Local Board of Education has canceled its special meeting which was to be held tonight.

Homemade meatballs

Chester Sacred Heart Ladies Guild will hold a homemade meatballs and sauce fundraiser as a drive thru from noon to 2 p.m. Sept. 25 in the Sacred Heart Center parking lot, offering six meatballs with sauce in a quart container for $10. Orders must be placed by Sept. 20 by calling 304-387-3268 or emailing cathyglass1@gmail.com.

Spaghetti dinner

Spaghetti and Meatball Dinner will be held from 4 to 7p.m. Wednesday at the Wellsville Alumni Center. The meal is carry out only and includes salad,bread and dessert. Cost is $8 adults, $4 child. Call 330-532-9811. Walk in orders accepted as well.

Museum open Sunday

The Winona Area Historical Society Museum (1838 Meeting House) and Quaker Meeting House are open from 1 to 4 p.m. Sunday. Visitors are welcome at the corner of Winona Road and Cameron Street.

Community breakfast

Damascus United Methodist Church and Middle Sandy Presbyterian Church will hold their monthly community breakfast from 7 to 10:30 a.m. Saturday at the United Methodist Church, 300 Valley Road, Damascus. The Breakfast features all-you-can-eat, made to order, pancakes, eggs, sausage, bacon, toast, juice and coffee for a donation. The breakfast proceeds will benefit the upcoming 2022 Summer Mission Trip to work with Jackson Area Ministries in Jackson, Ohio.

Threshold garage sale

Threshold Residential Services, a nonprofit that provides residential services and adult day programs for individuals living with disabilities, will be hosting a garage sale from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. Sept. 23-24 at the storage facility, 162 Walnut St. Due to the generosity of the community, Threshold Residential Services has accumulated a mass of donated goods but doesn’t have enough room to store them. This event will free up much-needed space and also serve as a small fundraiser for the organization. For a minimum $5 donation, event attendees will be able to take as many items as they can carry with them. Customers are encouraged to bring their own bags, carts, wagons, etc.

Drive-thru dinner

The East Palestine Eagles, 320 E. Taggart St., will hold their monthly drive thru from 4 to 6 p.m. or sold out Wednesday. The dinner is sirloin tips over noodles with coleslaw, roll and dessert for $10 or $9 if over 65 years. Call 330-853-8483 to order a meal.

Underground Railroad

Seats are still available for Sunday’s Underground Railroad tour on the Quakertown Trolley scheduled for 1:30 p.m. Cost is $15 a person and a minimum of participants are necessary to conduct the tour. All riders are requested to wear a mask. Previous participants have found the tour very informative and were enlightened as to the plight of the escaping slaves as they sought freedom while traveling through Salem. Walk ups are welcome before the 1:30 p.m. departure time at the Dale Shaffer Library, 239 S. Lundy Ave. The trolley is handicapped accessible. Fairfield Twp. BZA

The Fairfield Township Board of Zoning Appeals will hold a public hearing regarding a variance for accessory structure location at 44809 state Route 517, Columbiana, at 6:30 p.m. Sept. 27 in the Swope Meeting Room of the Fairfield Township Administration Building located at 3062 Fairfield School Road. This meeting is open to the public and all interested parties are invited to attend.

Messy Church

East Goshen Friends Church, 16800 South Range Road, Beloit, will host its monthly Messy Church from 10:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. Sept. 26. This month’s theme is “A Fresh Start,” focusing on Noah’s Ark (Genesis 6:5-8). The event will include Play-doh, water play, animals a taco bar and a hammer craft, with lunch to follow.
