WB sets fee schedule for facility rentals
BELOIT — The West Branch school board has established a fee schedule for facility rentals.
The board approved the fee schedule for the 2021-2022 school year. Schools Superintendent Micki Egli said the fee schedule is new and she is not aware of when it had been updated in the past.
The fees, which will include the rate of an employee when one is required, are split into the elementary, intermediate and middle schools, high school and athletic fields.
The elementary or intermediate gym will be $20 per hour with no spectators and $35 per hour or $175 per day with spectators. The middle school gym will be $35 per hour with no spectators and $50 per hour or $250 per day with spectators. The cafeterias and kitchens with refreshments or meal will be $60 per hour plus hour rate of required cafeteria worker. The libraries or classrooms will be $35 per hour.
At the high school, the auditorium will be $40 per hour with no spectators and $60 per hour or $300 per day with spectators; the library or classrooms $35 per hour; the gym $40 per hour with no spectators and $60 per hour or $300 per day with spectators; cafeteria $40 per hour; and cafeteria and kitchen with refreshments or meal $60 per hour plus hour rate of required cafeteria worker.
The athletic fields will be middle school football game and practice fields $400 per season, early learning center soccer fields $250 per season, high school baseball field $200 per event, high school varsity softball field $200 per event and high school soccer practice field $250 per season.
In other business, the board approved an agreement with Weatherproofing Technologies Inc. to complete a two-phase project to install a roof restoration system on the high school old gymnasium at $265,000. The project will be completed using Elementary and Secondary School Emergency Relief (ESSER) funds in response to the Covid-19 pandemic.
The board also approved the second year of a two-year contract with Aultman Hospital for athletic trainer coverage at $35 per hour, not to exceed 800 hours for the 2021-2022 school year (in addition to the 500 hours given by Aultman). The cost will be paid from Student Success and Wellness Funds.
Additionally the board approved a contract with AultWorks for staff physicals, random drug and/or alcohol testing. There’s an initial set up fee of $100 and a yearly fee of $195. The physicals are $35 each. Random drug screens are $48 and random alcohol breath alcohol tests are $25. All bus drivers are required to have a yearly physical as well being subjected to the random screens.
