Leetonia hires new athletic director

LEETONIA — The school board this week hired a new athletic director.

The board approved a one-year administrative contract to Jeff Martig as head athletic director for the 2021-2022 school year at $18,360. Martig is currently the transportation supervisor and online education administrator at Salem schools and was the athletic director at Western Reserve for 12 years.

In other business, the board granted one-year certificated contracts for the 2021-2022 school year to Carrie Roller as- intervention specialist, Kerri Ackler as K-6 school counselor, Brad Katzman as 7-12 integrative mathematic teacher, Emma Thomas as elementary fourth grade teacher, Kaitlyn Culp as 9-12 art teacher and Jennifer Hartman as intervention specialist; and one-year classified contracts for the 2020-2022 school year to Terry Rockwell as bus driver and Bob Vaia as study hall monitor.

Additionally the board approved the following personnel for the 2021 Summer Learning Series, paid for with Covid relief-related funds: Leanna Meeks, John McIlduff and Jenna Rydarowicz as teachers at $35 per hour; Amy Gibson as an aide at $20 per hour; Dawn Tittle, Amy Custer, Melanie Glosser, Jane Luxeuil, Doug Wilson, Tab Bailey and Michele Votaw as bus drivers at $25 per hour; and Amy Basden for cafeteria at $15 per hour.
