CTC students compete at SkillsUSA
LISBON — Students from the Columbiana County Career and Technical Center spent the school year preparing for skills-based competitions through the SkillsUSA organization. After months of preparing, students competed virtually at the local, regional and state levels throughout the months of February, March and April where they saw great success. During the SkillsUSA State of Ohio virtual awards ceremony on April 30, three students from the CCCTC placed at the state level.
Senior Paige Vuletic, health academy (HA) student from Beaver Local High School (BL), took the bronze medal in Medical Terminology competition. Senior Blaine Havens, precision machining and manufacturing (PMM) student from Beaver Local High School (BL), took the silver medal in the CNC Turning competition. Senior Joey Chuey, precision machining and manufacturing (PMM) student from Southern Local High School (SL), took the top spot with a gold medal in the Precision Machining competition.
Joey will advance on to compete virtually in the SkillsUSA National Leadership and Skills Conference in the month of June with the virtual award ceremony falling on June 24.
