Salem Class of 1971

The Salem High School Class of 1971 will hold its 50-year reunion activities this weekend. A meet/greet is scheduled for 4 p.m. Friday at the Salem Saxon Club. A breakfast is scheduled for 9 a.m. Saturday at Perkins before the class reunion at 5 p.m. at the Salem Golf Club. For information call 330-831-2273.

Drive-thru dinner

The East Palestine Eagles, 320 E. Taggart St., will host their monthly sirloin tip drive-thru dinner from 4 to 6 p.m. (or sold out) Wednesday. The dinner includes sirloin tips and noodles with coleslaw, roll and dessert for $10, or $9 for those over 65 years old. To order a meal call 330-853-8483.

Vaccine clinics

As part of our continuing vaccine equity outreach, the Columbiana County Health District will be holding two COVID-19 Johnson & Johnson vaccination clinics in Wellsville this Friday, June 18.

From 10 a.m. – 1 p.m. a clinic will be held at the Wellsville McDonald’s located at 100 Lisbon St, Wellsville. All of those vaccinated at this clinic will be given a voucher for a free meal, redeemable at the Wellsville McDonald’s location.

From 2 p.m. – 4 p.m. a clinic will be held at the Wellsville First Baptist Church in coordination with their food pantry. The location address is 1401 Center St, Wellsville.

Vaccinations will be given while you sit in your car in a drive-up model, but a walk-up option is also available. There is no cost associated with this vaccine and proof insurance is not required.

This vaccine is a one dose series and can be given to anyone 18 years of age and older.

Concert on the Square

The Lisbon Chamber of Commerce’s Concert on the Square will feature the band Half Nation from 6:30 to 9:30 p.m. Friday. Free refreshments will be served including hot dogs, chips and bottled water compliments of Continuing Healthcare. Bring a lawn chair.

Bridge repairs

Starting today, travelers of the Jennings Randolph Bridge, which leads from Ohio to West Virginia, will note some traffic changes. According to Chester Police Chief Chuck Stanley, extensive restoration efforts will begin that will necessitate the bridge switching to single-lane traffic in each direction for the next few months. No definite date has been given.
