Columbiana celebrates sports courts reopening

Morning Journal/Danielle Garner Pat Tingle, trustee on the Beautification and Restoration committee board cuts the ribbon at the new tennis and pickleball courts Wednesday. “We just wanted the community to be part of what we are doing,” said Tingle.

Columbiana Chamber of Commerce held a grand reopening at the Firestone Park sports courts Wednesday. Chick-fil-A attended with a food truck and a pickleball exhibition was held in celebration. The basketball and tennis courts were redone with added pickleball courts. The Sean Zentner group was happy to provide the park with a new sport.

Part of the Chick-fil-A food truck proceeds went to the Restoration and Beautification Committee of Columbiana, a not-for-profit organization contributing to the restoration of the city’s park.

The renovations in Firestone Park are part of a 5.5 million capital project.
