Take-back day

The National Prescription Drug Take-Back Day will be held from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. Saturday. People drop off their unused, unwanted or expired medications at the East Liverpool City Hospital main entrance and Salem police station. People will remain in their cars and hand off the unwanted medications to local law enforcement officers, who will be the only staff handling the medications. No requests for identification will be asked. Unwanted capsules or tablets may be kept in their original containers or removed from the original container. If an original container is disposed, try to remove any personal identifying information from the prescription label. County residents can also visit the following locations from 7 a.m. to 3 p.m. weekdays to dispose of unwanted medications in a locked medication drop-off box at these police departments, no questions asked: the sheriff’s office and police departments in Columbiana, East Liverpool, East Palestine, Leetonia, Lisbon, Salem and St. Clair Township.
