Pioneer Village closed

Friends of Beaver Creek State Park has canceled all planned 2020 events, including Pioneer Days. As well, Pioneer Village will remain closed for the rest of the season. The decision was made due to Gov. Mike DeWine’s statewide mandate regarding the COVID-19 pandemic.

All Pioneer Days’ vendors will be contacted and will receive a refund. Everybody’s contract for spots will remain in 2021. There will be no rentals.

Visitors may stop by to view the new lock gates on Lock 36, as well as the progress happening at the Esterly log house.

Leetonia school supplies

The Leetonia First United Methodist Church, 50 Lisbon St., will once again have a school supply giveaway for students in the Leetonia School System. The parent or guardian must show proof that the student attends the Leetonia School System by presenting a report card or other documentation. Unlike previous years when parents and guardians came into the church, this year they will stay in their car, wearing a mask, and someone will come out to assist them.
