CAA to host Back-To-School Drive-Through Thursday

LISBON — The Community Action Agency’s Health, Behavioral Health and Dental Centers want to help prepare families for the upcoming school year by offering some school supplies during its Back-To-School Drive-Through from 5:30 to 7:30 p.m. Thursday in the upper circle area near the Community Action Agency of Columbiana County’s Administrative Building, 7880 Lincole Place.

The event is in conjunction with the celebration of National Health Center Week Aug. 9-15.

“This event, and National Health Center Week, is about building awareness of our health, behavioral health and dental centers in Columbiana County,” said Jenna Wonner, CAA’s COO. “We love reaching out to the community, to our patients, and helping to create community pride while getting the word out about all the services we offer.”

The event is being held in the early evening to allow working parents to take part.

“We are offering this drive-through event to ensure social distancing, while providing a few school supplies to those who would like to receive them, and ultimately helping parents and kids get a jump on school supply lists,” said Jody Wisbith, Marketing Specialist for CAA’s Health, Behavioral Health and Dental centers. “No one will have to get out of their vehicles.”

Some other CAA agencies will participate in handing out back-to-school items, including CAA’s Head Start.

National Health Center Week is the creation of the National Association of Community Health Centers, and the week has been celebrated for more than 30 years.

The CAA Health, Behavioral Health and Dental Centers also will celebrate its patients and employees during National Health Center Week.
