Something to cheer about

In an attempt to spread some cheer during the COVID-19 outbreak, Columbiana has joined in on the social media trend of turning on its Christmas lights on Main Street. “If we could bring some cheer to the community by simply turning the LED Christmas lights back on, then why not do it?” City Manager Lance Willard said. “The lights were already up. However, we agreed it would be wise to let the community know the reason behind it before we turned them back on.” Similarly, the city has put up flags around town in response to Gov. DeWine’s request at one of this week’s press conferences. “Since then, we’ve received some nice compliments. In this time of uncertainty, we all need some cheer and unity in our life,” Willard said.
