Congratulations to Beth Hiscox for being named a Dunkin’ Class Act Award recipient. Hiscox was nominated by a DAHS students for the award. WFMJ surprised her with the award March 2. Hiscox has gone above and beyond during her 31 year teaching career. She makes learning exciting, as she brings lessons to life. Hiscox serves as the district’s gifted coordinator, and also taught science for many years. She continues to make it a priority to broaden her students’ educational horizons, offering unique opportunities, encouraging creativity, and advocating for the underserved. Hiscox’s love for education has led her to assume a coordinator position for an after-school program at the elementary school. The program is designed to develop the children socially, and improve their academic capabilities. Her efforts, compassion, and dedication are some of the many wonderful qualities of Hiscox.
