Wine in the winter
Wine-tasting event set Saturday in Lisbon
LISBON — The Lisbon Area Chamber of Commerce and the Lisbon Landmark Foundation will hold their annual “Wine About Winter” from 2-5 p.m. Saturday in the downtown.
Proceeds from the wine tasting will go toward restoring buildings in Lisbon’s historical center.
“Come drink wine with us and support your local businesses,” said Lisbon Area Chamber of Commerce president LaDawn Whitman in a press statement. “The event features both wine and non-wine stops throughout the downtown.”
Eight area businesses or organizations — Dashing Divas, Geronimo’s Hardware, Sandy and Beaver Insurance, Stigmata Tattoo and Piercing, Savvy Sisters, the Columbiana County Democratic Party, C4 Coffee and Serenity’s Way — will host mini wine-tasting stations.
Six other businesses — Tails of the Town, the Columbiana County Republican Party, Frontiers Unlimited, Rat Creative, N2 and the Hive Meadery– will offer coffee, soft drinks, cider and food.
“Come and enjoy an afternoon in the historic downtown,” said Lisbon Landmark Foundation president Barb DeCort in a press release. “All of the venues are within easy walking distance and we’ve added several new wines this year.”
Tickets are available for a $10 donation and are available at the Chamber of Commerce office at 120 N. Market St. the day of the event. Doors open at 2 p.m.
The first 50 participants will receive free engraved wine glasses made by Alterations by the Clothing Surgeon.
The event also features a wine pull and Chinese auction, and the Village Singers will perform at C4.
