County Briefing

Beware bogus dog tag site

Columbiana County Nancy Milliken is warning citizens purchasing their 2020 dog licenses to be aware of a scam involving a fraudulent website offering to sell licenses. She said ohdog-license.com is offering to sell dog licenses at a discount but it is a bogus site. The only legitimate website is http;//oh-columbiana-auditor.publicaccessnow.com and then click on the “dog tags” link. Dog licenses can still be purchased at the following locations: Fuller’s True Value Hardware, East Palestine; Milligan’s True Value Hardware, East Liverpool; Pure Pet, Salem; and Discount Drug Mart, Lisbon.

Input sought on Damascus plan

A member of Damascus Ruritan Club met with the Butler Township Trustees this fall to present to them a petition regarding a safety issue extending the sidewalk at the west end of the village of Damascus in Butler Township across three residence properties to the new Dollar General store which is now open. This is to allow children and adults to use the sidewalk for safety rather than walking on the state Route 62 to shop at the store. Township trustees would like input from the community, for or against, before applying for a grant to complete the project. Contact them at 330-222-1594 or by mail at 2974 Slater Road, Salem, Ohio 44460.
