Ohio notice given on iodine pill expiration
EAST LIVERPOOL — The Ohio Department of Health has notified the city’s health commissioner that the expiration date for Potassium Iodide (Thyrosafe) tablets has been extended. The original date was April 30, 2020, and it is now good until Dec. 31, 2021.
According to East Liverpool Health Commissioner Carol Cowan, these tablets were distributed and made available to the general public to be stored in their home for ingestion in the event of a nuclear emergency when directed by health officials.
