Hematologist/oncologist joins SRMC staff
SALEM — Salem Regional Medical Center welcomed fellowship-trained hematologist/oncologist Ranga Brahmamdam, M.D., to its medical staff. Dr. Brahmamdam joins medical oncologist Dr. Ayla Kessler in delivering advanced medical hematology and oncology services at the University Hospitals Seidman Cancer Center (UHSCC) at SRMC, located at 1995 E. State St. in Salem. Brahmamdam brings 23 years of experience treating cancer patients, with a special interest in helping those with blood cancers such as leukemia, lymphoma and myeloma. He comes to SRMC from TriHealth Cancer Institute in Cincinnati, where he served thousands of patients from Southwestern Ohio for almost 20 years. During that time, he was named the Best Doctor in Cincinnati Magazine 10 times and was also the recipient of the Unsung Hero Award for cancer family care. Brahmamdam earned his medical degree from Guntur Medical College, in India and went on to complete an internal medicine residency from Columbia University in New York. He later completed specialty training in hematology and oncology through his Fellowship at the University of Cincinnati. For an appointment, call 332-7672.
