Digging up Lincoln

Morning Journal/Mary Ann Greier

A worker uses a blow torch to cut the old street car rails for removal from North Lincoln Avenue in Salem as part of a project to excavate the asphalt and replace it with concrete. Salem City Service/Safety Director Ken Kenst said the concrete will be poured at least 9 inches thick, so workers will have to dig down further for the base.
