Both dinners will be served from noon-5:30 p.m. Proceeds from the two-day event will be used to help local school children in need this Christmas. Dog license on sale Dec. 1

County dog licenses will go on sale starting Dec. 1 and end Jan. 31. The fee is $10 for a one-year license, $30 for a three-year license and $100 for a lifetime license (which can only be purchased in the county auditor’s office). Licenses can be obtained electronically by going to, where Visa, MasterCard, Discovery and debit cards are accepted. Licenses can also be purchased at the auditor’s office in the county courthouse or at Milligan’s True Value Hardware in East Liverpool, Fuller’s True Value Hardware in East Palestine and Pure Pet in Salem. Those who receive pre-printed applications can mail payment to the auditor’s office. All kennel licenses must be purchased at the county dog pound.

Crown readies holiday shows

Crown Theater Productions will present “A Christmas Carol” Fridays and Saturdays, Nov. 30 through Dec. 8 and Sunday, Dec. 9 followed by the 10th anniversary of “Rockin’ Around The Town Square” (RATTS) Dec. 21, 22 and 23, both at Main Street Theater in Columbiana. The Friday and Saturday shows will begin at 8 p.m. with the Sunday shows beginning at 2 p.m. Tickets for both productions can be purchased online at or by calling 482-9915.

KSU sets financial workshops

Kent State East Liverpool will host a series of free financial aid workshops for students and their parents Nov. 27, Dec. 5, Dec. 13 and Jan. 9. The workshops will be held from 5:30-7 p.m. in Purinton Hall, room 318, with a financial aid specialist providing important information and helping attendees complete and file the FAFSA form for the 2019-2020 academic year as well as giving information on how to find and apply for scholarships, grants and loans. Those in attendance must bring their most recent tax return in order to complete the FAFSA. For more information or to register call 385-3805.

Yoga focus of wellness program

The Salem Library’s Wellness Wednesday program for December will be Chair Yoga with Abi Dalesandro, owner of Salem Yoga and Mindfulness, at 6:30 p.m. Dec. 12. Learn the benefits of yoga to your health and practice gentle seated movements during the program. Be sure to wear comfortable clothing that will allow for stretching.
