A whole lot of truck

Morning Journal/Patti Schaeffer

This bright orange vintage 1974 Brockway truck was among the participants at the Dying Breed Diesels gathering in Columbiana on Saturday. The Brockway Motor Co. was founded as the Brockway Carriage Works in Cortland, N.Y., in 1875 by William Brockway. His son George turned the carriage company into a truck manufacturer in 1909. The company was purchased by Mack Trucks in 1956 and remained a division of Mack until closing in 1977.
