Donations sought for sale
A newly formed volunteer group, Friends of the Columbiana County Pound Dogs, is raising public awareness and money for the benefit of the dogs living at the Columbiana County Dog Pound and Adoption Center (CCDPAC) by having a rummage sale from 8 a.m. to 4 p.m. April 7 at the county fairgrounds. The proceeds of the sale will be used for the purchase and installation of fencing to create a second exercise yard that will accommodate the needs of the multitude of dogs waiting for adoption. A few of the dogs available for adoption will be present on the day of the sale, as well as additional information about the CCDPAC. Friends will be collecting item donations for the rummage sale during the month of March. County residents can call 330-383-7845 to schedule a free pickup of items or schedule a donation drop at the pound. On April 5 and 6, donations will be collected from 7:30 a.m. to 10 a.m. and from 3 p.m. to 5:30 p.m. at the fairgrounds. To make a monetary donation send checks to: Friends of the Columbiana County Pound Dogs, 38255 Miller Road, Leetonia, OH 44431.
