A very embalmy night indeed
The East Liverpool Historical Society will present “Once Upon an ‘Embalmy’ Night: the History of Funeral Homes and Embalmers” at 6 p.m. Nov. 2 at the East Liverpool Country Club. Tickets are now available for $25 until Oct. 24 at J. Sabatini Shoe Store.
East Liverpool flushing hydrants
The East Liverpool Water Department will start a full system flush of fire hydrants and blow offs from 7 a.m. to 3:30 p.m., Monday through Friday, starting Sept. 25. Flushing will start in the following areas, working east to west: downtown, Klondike, Putnam Street and on to the rest of East End. Customers may experience a discoloration in the water or low pressure, however, the water will be safe to use without boiling.
Mystery dinner at the library
The Leetonia Friends of the Library will host the third annual mystery dinner, “Murder on the Boardwalk” beginning at 6 p.m. Oct. 7 at St. Patrick’s Church. Tickets are $20 per person and can be purchased by calling Suzanne Tobuck at 260-458-7147 or Jackie Keeler at 330-921-8560.
Visiting nurses hosting flu clinic
Salem Area Visiting Nurse Association will host a drive-through flu clinic 1-3 p.m. every Wednesday beginning Sept. 27 at 718 E. Third St. The cost is $25, and the agency will bill Medicare Part B or Anthem Senior Advantage products with the following prefixes: JRI, JRG, VOC and VOD. Bring insurance cards.
