Dollar Store robbed in EP

EAST PALESTINE — Police are investigating a robbery Friday evening at the Family Dollar store on East Taggart Street, following some leads that have turned up.

According to Chief Kevin Dickey, a man walked into the store about 7:20 p.m., grabbed a clerk by the arm and demanded money. She complied, giving him an undisclosed amount of cash, and the man left the store, traveling on foot in a northwest direction.

He was described as about 6-feet to 6-feet 2-inches tall, Dickey reported, saying no weapons were involved and no injuries reported.

The store was closed after the incident, with Dickey saying it was near closing time when it occurred.

“Officers do have some leads and are still investigating,” Dickey said, adding that anyone with any information is asked to call the police station at 330-426-4341.
