LISBON — In Columbiana County Municipal Court, a case against Richard Robinson Jr., 48, Rootstown, was bound over to the county grand jury on a fourth-degree felony charge of domestic violence and misdemeanor charges of endangering children, operating a vehicle under the influence of alcohol or drugs and OVI breath.

Robinson was accused of operating a vehicle impaired on July 3 with two children in the vehicle, ages 3 and 14, which their mother, who was also in the vehicle, reported to 911 while on U.S. Route 30 in Madison Township. They got into an argument and he proceeded to choke her and hit hit. She and the children exited the vehicle and he left, then he was stopped by the patrol on state Route 45 and arrested.

A preliminary hearing was set Aug. 1 for Paul Miller, 28, Warsaw, charged with compelling prostitution, a third-degree felony, attempted illegal sexual conduct with a minor, a fourth-degree felony, and possessing criminal tools and importuning, both fifth-degree felonies. Bond was set at $20,000 cash or surety and he was ordered to have no contact with any minors. Miller allegedly solicited sexual conduct from an undercover Mahoning Valley Human Trafficking Task Force agent posing as a 15-year-old female in exchange for $80, driving to Salem on July 25 for the meeting.

Jeffery Hoffman, 47, Stratton Road, Salem was fined $750 and ordered to perform 20 hours community service for engaging in prostitution and possessing criminal tools for soliciting sexual activity from an undercover Mahoning Valley Human Trafficking Task Force agent in exchange for $140, and driving to Salem on April 16 for the meeting.

A pretrial was set Sept. 19 for Daryl Daniels, 40, Canfield, charged with engaging in prostitution and possessing criminal tools for allegedly answering an ad placed on a known escort website by a Mahoning Valley Human Trafficking Task Force agent and arranging to have sexual conduct with a female, offering to pay $200 and claiming to be an Oho State booster and a benefactor. Daniels arrived June 25 in East Palestine for the meeting, with $90 and a cell phone.

A pretrial was set Sept. 22 for Austin Fogal, 28, West Middlesex, Pa., charged with engaging in prostitution and possessing criminal tools for allegedly answering an ad placed on a known prostitution website by a Mahoning Valley Human Trafficking Task Force agent and arranging to have sexual conduct with a female in exchange for $140, then traveling July 8 to East Palestine for the meeting.

A pretrial was set Aug. 4 for Michael Giles, 34, Grant Street, New Waterford, charged with domestic violence for allegedly causing physical harm on July 25 in New Waterford to Taylor Kelly by shoving her to the ground, striking her in the face, pinning her head down to the ground and gathering freshly mowed grass and debris and grinding it into her face before kicking her in the back. Bond was set at $10,000 cash or surety and he was ordered to have no contact with Taylor Kelly.

Charges of illegal use or possession of drug paraphernalia and open container were dismissed without prejudice against Dena McCollough, 55, Youngstown, who was in prison. The charges stemmed from a 2021 incident in Columbiana.

Jonathan Gould, 35, Gadsolen, Ala., waived extradition as a fugitive from justice from Alabama after being served on July 25 at the county jail. The charge in Alabama was possession of marijuana.

Dennis J. Sebo, 43, Winona Road, waived extradition as a fugitive from justice from California. Sebo was taken into custody July 25 by Salem Police on the active warrant from San Bernardino County for multiple charges.

A charge of illegal use or possession of drug paraphernalia was dismissed without prejudice against Laura Smith, 38, West Fourth Street, Salem, at the request of the prosecutor due to a pending felony matter. The charge stemmed from a July 18, 2022 traffic stop when a clear baggie with a white crystal substance was found, along with a pill bottle containing unknown pills and a pill bottle with a white crystal substance residue inside.

A pretrial was set Sept. 19 for William Tomlin, 52, Jennings Avenue, Salem, charged with disorderly conduct after police found him sitting intoxicated on the back steps of another residence on Jennings Avenue after a resident called to report a man at the back of his residence who he didn’t know who was refusing to leave and talking to himself on July 26 in Salem. Tomlin allegedly thought he was on his own property and had received a warning for disorderly conduct on July 25 when he was found intoxicated next to city hall.

Barbara Milsom, 56, Cherry Valley Drive, Leetonia, was fined $975 and sentenced to 90 days in jail, with 87 days suspended and credit for three days for attending a driver intervention program for operating a vehicle under the influence of alcohol or drugs and failure to control. Her license was suspended for one year, with driving privileges granted, and she was ordered to perform 20 hours community service.

A probation violation hearing was set Aug. 8 for Jaron Lewis, 27, Youngstown, on charges of illegal use or possession of drug paraphernalia, possession of marijuana, OVI first offense, use of unauthorized plate, no valid license, left of center and no seat belt from 2020.

Loghen Ward, 21, Alliance, was fined $350 for driving under suspension and traffic control devices.

A charge of one way traffic was dismissed against Jene-ann Beaver, 40, Orchard Street, Columbiana.

A pretrial was set Oct. 20 for Carlos Zanders, 39, Holliday Street, East Liverpool, charged with speeding.

Clinton Scott III, 44, South Broadway Avenue, Salem, was fined $200 for driving under suspension.

Ali Alqhtani, 34, Pittsburgh, Pa., was fined $75 for driving under suspension.

A pretrial was set Oct. 20 for Kateland Huff, 27, Metz Road, Columbiana, charged with driving under suspension.

Grand jury

LISBON — Two secret indictments for drug-related charges issued by the Columbiana County grand jury were served recently.

Stacie Saracco, 32, Crews Road, Wellsville, was indicted in June for aggravated possession of drugs and possession of fentanyl-related compound, both fifth-degree felonies, for allegedly possessing or using methamphetamine and fentanyl-related compound on Nov. 2, 2021.

Precious Houston, 33, Steubenville, was indicted in February 2021 for aggravated possession of drugs, a fifth-degree felony, for allegedly possessing the schedule I drug Cathinone, more commonly known as bath salts, on June 29, 2020.
