LISBON — In Common Pleas Court, Philip K. Funk, 40, Akron, pleaded guilty to aggravated trafficking in drugs and aggravated possession of drugs, both second-degree felonies in one case and to having weapons while under disability, a third-degree felony; aggravated trafficking in drugs, a second-degree felony; and aggravated possession of drugs, a second-degree felony. He requested immediate sentencing and was sentenced to four to six years in prison with credit of 196 days already served in one case and 71 days in the other case. Funk was fined $15,000.

On June 14, 2020, Funk was in a vehicle stopped on state Route 11 by the state highway patrol, when he was found to have large amounts of methamphetamine in plastic baggies, a digital scale and a Hi-Point .45 caliber handgun with a magazine and six rounds in a lockbox behind the driver’s seat when Funk has prior convictions for robbery and felonious assault in Summit County. On Sept. 25, 2020, Funk again was found with large amounts of methamphetamines that appeared to be for resale.

Davonta L. Ferguson, 20, Columbus, was found eligible for intervention in lieu of conviction and pleaded guilty to possession of fentanyl-related compound and possession of drugs for tramadol. Both drugs were in his possession on July 4, 2019. In another case Ferguson pleaded guilty to possession of heroin, a fourth-degree felony; possession of a fentanyl-related compound, a fourth-degree felony; possession of cocaine, a fifth-degree felony; aggravated possession of drugs a fifth-degree felony and possession of drugs, a first-degree misdemeanor charge. Those were for substances in his possession, including tramadol and methamphetamines, on Aug. 14, 2020. Ferguson was placed on a three-year intervention treatment plan.

Municipal

LISBON — In county Municipal Court, James Lee Spurlock, 25, state Route 170, Negley, was fined $1,375, sentenced to 60 days in jail, had his license suspended for two years and ordered 40 hours community service for OVI third offense, driving under suspension and a traffic control device violation.

Amanda D. Stoneking, 29, West Perry Street, Salem, was fined $975, had her license suspended for a year, required to attend a three-day counseling program and ordered 40 hours community service for OVI first offense and left of center. A turn signal violation was dismissed.

A Feb. 3 pretrial was set for William C. Bauman Jr., 66, Lincoln Street, Minerva, charged with OVI first offense and left of center.

Clint Tynes, 48, Warren, pleaded no contest to possessing criminal tools and engaging in position. On Nov. 26, Tynes arranged by phone with someone undercover from the Mahoning Valley Human Trafficking Task Force to pay to have sexual conduct with a woman in exchange for $150. A disposition hearing was set for Dec. 21.

A Dec. 20 pretrial was set for Thomas G. Glaab, 52, New Brighton, Pa., charged with engaging in prostitution and possession of criminal tools for allegedly using his phone to arrange for 30 minutes of sex in exchange for $80 with an undercover officer from the Mahoning Valley Human Trafficking Task Force on Nov. 24.

A Feb. 8 pretrial was set for Brian S. Anderson, 41, Carmel Achor Road, Negley, charged with engaging in prostitution and possessing criminal tools for allegedly arranging with an undercover officer with the Mahoning Valley Human Trafficking Task Force for 30 minutes of sexual conduct for $100 on Nov. 26.

A Jan. 27 pretrial was set for Robert Lutman, Leetonia Road, Leetonia, charged with engaging in prostitution and possessing criminal tools. On Nov. 27, Lutman allegedly arranged sex with a prostitute at first in exchange for both cash and methamphetamines and then changed the deal to just meth, which he reportedly had with him when he met investigators from the Mahoning Valley Human Trafficking task force.

A Dec. 16 pretrial was set for Leah E. Janci, 31, East State Street, Salem, charged with domestic violence for allegedly punching Jason Mullins in the face during an argument after he reportedly spit on her and called her a racial slur on Wednesday.

Heather M. Leaf, 75, Cleveland Street, Salem, was fined $250 and credited with four days in jail for disorderly conduct amended from domestic violence for scratches on Wesley Clark on Sept. 6.

Robert H. Spaulding, 31, South Market Street, East Palestine, was fined $150 for disorderly conduct amended from carrying a concealed weapon. On Jan. 11, Spaulding was found walking on property belonging to Norfolk Southern with a large knife sticking out of his pants pocket in Leetonia.

Matthew Robert Zackasee, 29, Poland, was fined $300 and required 20 hours community service for possession of schedule four controlled substance for having two phenobarbital tablets on Dec. 28, 2020.

A Jan. 20 pretrial was set for Brandon K. Sanor, 36, West Maryland Avenue, Sebring, charged with hit skip, driving under suspension, failure to control, a seat belt violation, improper registration and unsafe vehicle from Aug. 31 in Center Township, and additional citations of hit skip, driving under suspension, failure to control and improper registration from his alleged actions behind the wheel on Aug. 27 in Knox Township.

A Feb. 8 pretrial was set for Lance M. Morris, 35, Hilltop Drive, Lisbon, charged with use of an unauthorized plate, no license and speeding.

A Feb. 3 pretrial was set for Levi A. Shields, 25, Midland, Pa., charged with criminal trespassing for allegedly sleeping in a barn on Tuesday at a home on U.S. Route 30, Kensington, without permission of the property owners.

A Feb. 1 pretrial was set for Richard A. Monigold, 19, North Street, Salineville, charged with obstructing official business for allegedly running down the hill toward the woods when police responded to the house due to a fireworks complaint on July 5 when Monigold had a warrant through the sheriff’s office.

Michael Yoskey, 20, Meister Road, Hanoverton, was fined $380 and required 30 hours community service for failure to control, a seat belt violation and disorderly conduct amended from falsification for filing a report on Oct. 17 that his vehicle was stolen during the night, then later admitting the vehicle was never stolen and he was the one who crashed it into the ditch after falling asleep at the wheel. A citation for failure to stop after an accident was dismissed.

A Jan. 27 pretrial was set for Kasey M. Cavanaugh, McKeesport, Pa., 25, cited with illegal use or possession of drug paraphernalia for a straw for snorting cocaine found inside a storage compartment near the steering wheel of her vehicle on Wednesday.

Robert L.Z. Zuch, 35, Washington Street, Lisbon, was credited with a day in jail and fined $250 for criminal mischief for destroying an intercom on the wall of his cell at the jail on Nov. 24 costing $327 to replace, which he will be required to pay in restitution to the county jail.

Michael J. Schneider, 25, Youngstown, was credited with 24 days served in jail, sentenced to an additional 21 days in jail and fined $250 for possession of drug abuse instruments for a syringe found with the help of K-9 Hunter of the county sheriff’s office on April 4.

A Dec. 20 pretrial was set for Jeffrey D. Davis, 46, state Route 164, Lisbon, charged with resisting arrest for allegedly pulling away from police taking him into custody on Tuesday.

Christine M. Luengas Garcia, 42, Midland, Pa., was fined $150 for speeding. Citations of possession of marijuana and drug paraphernalia were dismissed.

Christian E. Gillespie, 24, Austintown, was fined $100 for speeding. A driving under suspension citation was dismissed.

W.K. Properties, McCoy Avenue, East Liverpool, was fined $90 for three counts of building maintenance violations for three deteriorating properties in the 200 block of East Lincoln Way in Lisbon.

EL Muni

EAST LIVERPOOL — In East Liverpool Municipal Court, John L. Wooten, of Carter Street, was sentenced to $130 plus costs on a probation violation charge.

Brandon R. Moore, of Warren, had his pretrial continued to Jan. 26 on an OVI charge.

Zackary A. Petty, of Ravine Street, had his trial continued to Jan. 20 on an assault charge.

Jarrit D. Manley, of Salem-Alliance Road in Salem, had his pretrial continued to Jan. 26 on a violating a protection order charge.

James R. Leonard, of Idaho Avenue in Salem, had his pretrial continued to Jan. 26 on charges of engaging in prostitution and possession of criminal tools.

Charles L. Herron, of Ross Street, was sentenced to 70 days in jail on a probation violation charge.

Albert M. Fullerton, of Broadway Avenue in Wellsville, was sentenced to $375 plus costs, 90 days in jail (eight imposed) and 20 community service hours on charges of hit-skip, disorderly conduct and reasonable control.

Reva S. McCullough, of Sunset Lane, was sentenced to 20 days in jail on a probation violation charge.

Philip K. Funk, of Akron, was sentenced to $200 plus costs and 10 days in jail on a charge of drug paraphernalia, driving under suspension and lanes of travel.

Wilbert E. Faulk Sr., of West Ninth Street, had his case continued until Dec. 13 on property code violations.

Jena M. Smith, of Midland, Pa., had her case continued until Jan. 27 for a trial on an aggravated menacing charge.

Mark R. Smith II, of Irish Ridge Road, was sentenced to $50 plus costs on a charge of an expired license.

Dustin R. Green, of Duke Vodrey Road, was sentenced to $50 plus costs on a charge of public intoxication.
