Court News

LISBON — Brandon S. Moore, 26, Northwest Street, Salem, pleaded guilty in Common Pleas Court to rape, a first-degree felony, for a sexual assault committed by force or threat of force on Jan. 1. He faces up to 16 and a half years in prison and a $20,000 fine. Sentencing is set for Nov. 18.

Kevin Lee Byers Jr., 29, Lower Elkton Road, Leetonia, pleaded guilty to domestic violence, a fourth-degree felony for harming Toni Marie Boyle, when he already had a prior conviction for domestic violence in 2015. He faces up to 18 months in prison and a $5,000 fine. Sentencing is set for Nov. 18.

Municipal

LISBON — In county Municipal Court, a Sept. 14 pretrial was set for Ernest L. Wengerd, 32, Depot Road, Lisbon, charged with OVI second offense, driving under OVI suspension and left of center.

Alvanna Deneice Carter, 42, East Eighth Street, East Liverpool, was fined $1,125, had her license suspended for a year, required to attend a three-day counseling program and ordered 40 hours community service for OVI first offense, operating without a license and speeding.

An Oct. 21 pretrial was set for Deveri Maywood Stines, 57, Beaver Falls, Pa., cited with OVI first offense and speeding.

An Oct. 21 pretrial was set for Jon William Stines, 47, Beaver Falls, Pa., cited with OVI first offense.

Charges of assault, criminal damaging and aggravated menacing against Justin M. Givens, 26, U.S. Route 30, Kensington, were dismissed on a motion of the prosecutor’s office. The charges were dismissed without prejudice, which means they can be refiled.

Cheyenne E. Moore, 21, East Taggart Street, East Palestine, pleaded guilty to three counts of theft. A sentencing hearing was set for Sept. 23. Moore reportedly stole $80 on Aug. 23, $50 by claiming it was counterfeit on Thursday and $100 from the deposit on Monday, while she was working at the Dairy Queen.

Jessica M. Combs, 30, South Beaver Street, Lisbon, was fined $400 for driving under suspension and possession of marijuana.

Alan G. Fleeger Jr., 29, New Middletown, was fined $750 for possession of marijuana and two counts of driving under suspension. Two speeding citations were dismissed.

Cassandra M. Salokangas, 31, state Route 45, Salem, was fined $250, credited with two days in jail and required 20 hours community service for disorderly conduct amended from domestic violence.

Jeffrey M. Skidmore, 41, Gromley Road, Salem, was fined $250 for driving under suspension.

Ashley Felger, 31, Echo Dell Road, Rogers, was fined $375 for possession of marijuana, driving under suspension, speeding and a seat belt violation.

Mia N. Sheets, 31, North Lima, was fined $400, credited with 10 days served in jail and required 40 hours community service for driving under suspension, left of center and theft for stealing three sandwiches valued at $11 from the Rogers Food and Fuel on April 21.

Meghan E. Dawson, 41, Midland, Pa., was fined $150 for speeding. A seat belt violation was dismissed.

Jonathan David Shellenberger, 31, Jones Drive, Salem, was fined $80 for driving under suspension and speeding.

EL Muni

EAST LIVERPOOL — In East Liverpool Municipal Court, Mitzi Stoddard, of East Eighth Street, was sentenced to $200 plus costs and 25 days in jail on charges of leaving the scene, failure to control (two counts), driving under suspension, unsafe vehicle, expired plates and probation violation.

Skylar W. Lisko, of Pittsburgh, was set Sept. 9 for a pretrial on a domestic violence charge.

William J. Lamp, of Ridgeway Avenue, was set Sept. 2 for a probable cause hearing on a probation violation.

Karl R. Connelly Jr., of Steubenville, was sentenced to $200 plus costs on a no operator’s license charge.

Zemfira B. Hoppel, of Irish Ridge Road, was set Sept. 29 for a pretrial on a failure to transfer a registration charge.

Wellsville

WELLSVILLE — In Wellsville Magistrate Court, Jamie Allen Sr., of Danbury Avenue, was sentenced to $150 plus costs on a charge of criminal damaging.

Bruce Smith, of Commerce Street, was set for pretrial on Sept. 9 for a menacing charge.

Steven Wright and Kari Monte, both of Independence Square, were set for pretrial on Sept. 9 on assault charges.
