LISBON — Jessica L. Lasater, 33, Cunningham Road, Salem, pleaded guilty in Common Pleas Court to aggravated vehicular assault, a second-degree felony; failure to comply with an order or signal of a police officer, a third-degree felony; failure to stop after an accident, a fifth-degree felony; tampering with evidence, a third-degree felony; obstructing official business, a fifth-degree felony, which is a lesser-included offense to a failure to comply with an order or signal of a police officer, a third-degree felony; and misdemeanor charges of OVI and driving under suspension. Lasater faces up to 16 years in prison, a $12,500 fine and a lifetime license suspension. Sentencing is set for Aug. 19.
Lasater failed to stop for police both on June 13, 2020, and again on Aug. 13, 2020. The second time she was reportedly intoxicated and collided her vehicle with Joann Nagy, causing Nagy serious physical harm. Then on Dec. 31, 2020, she attempted to conceal evidence from investigators.
Amber L. Yatro, 50, Louise Avenue, East Liverpool, stipulated to violating the terms of her community control from a prior theft charge. She was sentenced to 90 days in jail. Yatro’s theft charge was for taking $9,316 in food stamps benefits between 2014 and 2016.
Scott D. Kaltenbach Jr., 44, Elk Avenue, Lisbon, was placed on three years community control for an aggravated possession of drugs charge for methamphetamines in his possession on Sept. 27, 2018.
William S. McMillan, 27, Scroggs Road, Lisbon, stipulated to violating the terms of his community control and was sentenced to nine months in prison for a possession of cocaine charge from May 2, 2019.
Michael T. Morris, 35, Cornell Street, East Liverpool, pleaded guilty to possession of cocaine, a fifth-degree felony, for having the substance in his possession on July 21, 2019. Morris was found eligible for intervention in lieu of conviction and was placed on a three-year treatment plan.
