Court News

LISBON – In Common Pleas Court, Richard R. Renfro, 39, North Middleton Street, Columbiana, stipulated to violating the terms of his community control for a prior aggravated possession of drugs conviction. He was sentenced to 270 days in jail and his community control was dishonorably terminated. Renfro had been charged for having 6-monoacetylmorphine on March 3, 2018.

Edward A. Rodriguez, 26, Midland, Pa., pleaded guilty to receiving stolen property, a fourth-degree felony, and requested immediate sentencing. He was placed on three years community control and ordered to serve a 34-day jail sentence. Rodriguez had been in possession of a 2005 GMC truck belonging to the city of East Liverpool on March 26.

Municipal

LISBON — In county Municipal Court, a May 13 preliminary hearing and pretrial was set for Richard R. Vecchio, 58, state Route 164, Lisbon, charged with a felony assault of a police officer and misdemeanor charges of resisting arrest, disorderly conduct-public intoxication and possession of marijuana. Vecchio was reportedly intoxicated on Depot Street in Rogers on Saturday, resisted being placed into a sheriff’s cruiser and kicked Deputy Kevin Shulas in the chest.

A May 10 preliminary hearing was set for Daniel J. Common II, 21, Quaker Church Road, East Rochester, charged with burglary for allegedly entering the Walker Road, Minerva, home of James and Joyce Falconer, where he was reportedly found asleep in a recliner chair on Saturday.

Sean Allen Shoaff, 32, Steubenville Pike, Hammondsville, was sentenced to 35 days in jail, fined $1,750, had his license suspended for three years and required 40 hours community service for OVI third offense, failure to control, distracted driving and failure to stop after an accident.

Ashley L. Metzgar, 33, Franklin Avenue, Salem, was fined $1,450, had her license suspended for three years and required 40 hours community service for OVI third offense, marked lanes, possession of marijuana and a taillights violation.

Alan J. Miner, 44, Rocky River, was fined $1,075, required to attend a three-day counseling program, required 40 hours community service and had his license suspended for a year and a half for possession of marijuana, a turn signal violation and physical control amended from OVI first offense.

A June 22 pretrial was set for David Howell, 63, Common Street, East Rochester, cited with OVI first offense, driving under suspension and parking on the roadway in the reverse direction.

Michael E. Oates, 45, April Road, Salineville, was credited with 14 days served, sentenced to an additional 16 days in jail, had his license suspended for six months and fined $1,150 for domestic violence, aggravated menacing, falsification, failure to stop and assured clear distance. The first two of the charges are for assaulting Pamela Snay multiple times on Logtown Road in Lisbon near the Greenway Trail on March 28, threatening to kill her with a firearm, drown her and to cut her head off. He has now been ordered to have no contact with Snay. The other three charges were for filing a false report with the Highway Patrol, claiming his 2008 Buick LaCrosse was stolen when it was involved in a hit skip crash in Salineville on Dec. 13.

James L. Walder Jr., 37, Canton, was fined $400, had his license suspended for a year, required to attend a three-day intervention program and ordered 20 hours community service for distracted driving, marked lanes and reckless operation amended from OVI.

Brandy Marie Tennant, 21, Somer Street, Leetonia, was fined $280 for distracted driving, marked lanes and a seat belt violation. An OVI first offense citation was dismissed.

A May 10 pretrial was set for Joshua D. Stewart, 32, Hilltop Drive, Lisbon, charged with theft for allegedly scanning a cheaper item in the place of expensive item, resulting in Stewart taking a $171 item from the Salem Walmart without paying on Dec. 31.

Matthew C. Ward, 32, Michigan Avenue, East Liverpool, was fined $250, credited with 11 days in jail and required 40 hours community service for criminal mischief for sticking a toothbrush into the sprinkler head of his cell, breaking it and causing it to go off. He was ordered to pay $262 in restitution to the county jail.

A June 14 pretrial was set for Beth A. Ingledue, 50, Carriage Lane, Canfield, charged with theft for allegedly failing to scan $98 in merchandise at the Salem Walmart on April 3 by placing items on top of others and only scanning the bottom item.

A May 10 pretrial was set for Jasmine D. Richardson, 32, Clark Avenue, Wellsville, charged with menacing for allegedly threatening a school custodian at Wellsville schools, who told her to stop when he caught her attempting to get into vehicles in the school parking lot on April 19.

Amber N. Jones, Clark Avenue, Wellsville, was credited with two days in jail, sentenced to an additional three days in jail and fined $150 for possession of drug abuse instruments for having a baggie with two hypodermic needles and a burn spoon inside on the floorboards of the passenger seat she was riding in on Aug. 30, 2019.

A June 15 pretrial was set for Maeci Rebecca Madison, 25, Brilliant, cited with driving under suspension, speeding and a seat belt violation.

A June 8 pretrial was set for Corey J. Miller, 28, East Park Avenue, Columbiana, cited with driving under suspension and failure to dim headlights.

Michael Lee Smith, 52, Bloomingdale, was fined $200 for driving under suspension.

Adrienna M. Jackson, 29, Independence Square, Wellsville, was fined $200 for driving under suspension and failure to control.

A June 24 pretrial was set for Ruth Brown, 82, state Route 517, Lisbon, cited with four counts of vacant structure violation. Brown allegedly failed to pay the vacant structure monitoring fee or seek a waiver for the fee on Feb. 6, which was 45 days after she was notified she needed to do so for properties at 42 W. Park Ave., 115 W. Lincoln Way, 121 W. Lincoln Way and 127 N. Market St.

A June 10 pretrial was set for Brian Davis, 43, West Lincoln Way, Lisbon, cited with a vacant structure violation for allegedly failing to pay the village zoning inspector fee for a vacant property at 129-B West Lincoln Way, after all lawful business operations ceased at the property sometime prior to Nov. 29 and after the 45-day notice expired on Feb. 6.

Stephanie Hlebovy, 29, Youngstown, was fined $150 for wrongful entrustment.

A violating a temporary protection order citation against Randall C. Culler, 61, Bell Road, Lisbon, was dismissed. The citation had been for allegedly contacting Christina Faulk on April 25.
