Grand Jury

Charles E. McCanna, 39, Spillway Road, Lisbon, was served a secret indictment charging him with aggravated possession of drugs, a fifth-degree felony, for allegedly having methamphetamines in his possession on July 30, 2020. The indictment was issued by the grand jury in March.

Municipal

LISBON — An April 1 preliminary hearing was set in county Municipal Court for James V. Wiebe, 51, North Walnut Street, East Palestine, charged with a third-degree felony having weapons while under a disability charge. Wiebe allegedly had five “long gun” firearms stored in a closet of a bedroom of his home on Dec. 27, when he has a prior felony drug conviction in California in 2017.

Jeremy A. Robb, 34, Seigler Road, Lisbon, pleaded no contest to two counts of criminal damaging. One was for breaking the wall fire horn and strobe inside a county jail cell in the booking area on March 13. The other charge was for breaking a sprinkler head inside a second cell in the county jail booking, which caused significant flooding and substantial risk to other inmates and staff because the fire alarm system had to be shut down until the sprinkler head could be fixed. A sentencing hearing was set for April 26.

A May 13 pretrial was set for Jasper Wayne Sloat, 21, South Linden Avenue, Alliance, charged with OVI first offense, possession of marijuana and a turn signal violation.

Lonnie A. Wilson, 32, High Street, Leetonia, waived his right to an extradition hearing so he can be returned to Texarkana, Ark., were he reportedly faces a probation violation for a felony charge.

A May 4 pretrial was set for Brittany L. Neely, 26, West Oregon Avenue, Sebring, cited with driving under suspension, traffic control devices and a seat belt violation.

Brendan George Nichols, 23, Cleveland Heights, was fined $580 and required 20 hours community service for driving under suspension, speeding and a seat belt violation.

A May 11 pretrial was set for Michael T. Joy, 32, East Sixth Street, Salem, cited with driving under OVI suspension.

A May 3 pretrial was set for Sydney R. Felton, 23, Hazel Run Road, Salineville, cited with driving under OVI suspension.

A May 3 pretrial was set for Darrin M. McFarland, 23, Sleepy Hollow Road, Leetonia, charged with resisting arrest and disorderly conduct on Friday for allegedly being intoxicated, walking around in Leetonia and then refusing to go to calm down and go to bed after he was given the opportunity to go home with his girlfriend. He then reportedly refused to cooperate with efforts to place him into handcuffs.

Tiyler P. Tataseo, 21, Bergholz, was fined $230 for driving under suspension, failure to control and a seat belt violation.

Bobby L. Armstead, 37, Pritchard Avenue, Lisbon, was fined $200 for driving under suspension.

Aaron M. Teis, 32, King Road, Salem, was fined $130 for driving under suspension and lighted lights required.

A May 6 pretrial was set for Natay Ford, 28, Youngstown, cited with possession of marijuana and marijuana paraphernalia.

Larry G. Adkins, 19, Parshall Road, Wellsville, was fined $125 for no motorcycle endorsement and a temporary permit violation.

A May 6 pretrial was set for Alexander M. Knappenberger, 32, Akron, cited with disobeying a traffic control device.

Maria Villafane Perez, 34, Youngstown, was fined $75 for no license.
