LISBON — In Common Pleas Court, Dasjuan D. Scruggs, 24, Bedford, pleaded guilty to trafficking in drugs and two counts of possession of drugs with a forfeiture specification. Scruggs is facing up to three and a half years in prison, fines of up to $10,000 and a five year license suspension at the time of sentencing on April 30. On Oct. 19, 2017, Scruggs had both cocaine and carfentanil, including carfentanil he offered for sale. Additionally, he had $6,137 for use in drug-related offenses.
Mark A. Hadden, 37, Canton, pleaded guilty to failure to comply with an order or signal of a police officer. On April 16, 2019, Hadden fled from Sgt. Steve Boyd of the sheriff’s office at speeds of at least 95 mph on state Route 172, passing several cars in no passing areas and forcing vehicles off the road. Sentencing is set for May 14. Hadden is facing up to three years in prison, a license suspension from three years to life and a fine of $10,000.
Chad A. Smith, 39, Spillway Road, Lisbon, stipulated to a probation violation from a prior plea to two counts of possession of drugs. His intervention in lieu of conviction plan was terminated and he has now been placed on community control.
Lisa A. Keener, 45, Price Street, East Liverpool, stipulated to violating the terms of her community control on convictions of two counts of illegal processing of a drug document. Her violations are strictly financial and her community control was dishonorably terminated. On Oct. 7, 2015, Keener had used forged prescriptions to obtain oxycodone and dicyclomine at Marty’s Pharmacy in Liverpool Township.
During her hearing on Thursday, Keener thanked Judge Scott Washam for sending her to the Eastern Ohio Correction Center as part of her community control, which she credits in her making a big change in her life.
Charles M. Butler, also known as Johnny, 46, Youngstown, stipulated to violating his community control on three counts of trafficking in drugs. His community control was dishonorably terminated. On June 25, 2014, Butler offered to sell cocaine and on Oct. 7, 2014 he sold cocaine and heroin while was using a 2001 Jeep Cherokee to do it..
