Oak Glen drops two in OVAC duals

STEUBENVILLE – The Bears came up on the short end Thursday in the 2nd annual Bill Hingardner OVAC Dual Meet Championships held at Steubenville High School.

In the opening semifinal match of Class 4A action, Oak Glen was defeated by Harrion Central, 39-24.

Then, in the third place match, the Bears were downed by Martins Ferry, 34-32.

Against Harrison Central, the Bears picked up four victories.

Brodie Bittinger secured the lone win by fall for Oak Glen, pinning Harrison Central’s Kyle Dodds in 1:07 in a 160-pound match.

At 113 pounds, Danny Wyke scored a major decision agianst Brandon White, 12-4.

Josh Cornell (120) beat David Forrester, 2-0, while Avery Flowers won by a score of 5-1 against Antony Risley at 132 pounds.

Against Martins Ferry, the Bears claimed six victories.

At 106 pounds, Shane Logston defeated Takota Haggerty, 2-0.

Josh Cornell picked up a 15-0 win in a 120-pound match against Trevor Neavin, while Avery Flowers pinned Dennis Russell in 50 seconds at 132 pounds.

At 145 pounds, Alex Shuman pinned Zac Mey in 1:50.

The Bears also won two wins by forfeit at 160 pounds and 195 pounds.
