Three reach OVAC semifinals
East Liverpool, Oak Glen and Wellsville qualified for the OVAC boys basketball championships and will be in action Tuesday as the semifinals commence.
East Liverpool earned the fourth seed in Class 4A and will travel to top seed Meadowbrook on Tuesday, while No. 2 seed Oak Glen will host No. 3 seed St. Clairsville in the other Class 4A semifinal.
In Class 2A, Wellsville earned the third seed and will be at No. 2 seed Wheeling Central on Tuesday. No. 1 seed Toronto will host No. 4 seed Shadyside in the other semifinal.
The championships will be held on Saturday at Ohio University Eastern.

WELLSVILLE — Wellsville will host the Eastern Ohio Athletic Conference junior high boys basketball championship and consolation games today at DAW Elementary, 929 Center St.
Today’s schedule includes:
10 a.m., seventh-grade championship, Toronto vs. Lisbon.
11:30 a.m., eighth-grade consolation, Southern vs. Columbiana.
1 p.m., seventh-grade consolation, United vs. Columbiana.
2:30 p.m., eighth-grade championship, Wellsville vs. United.
East Liverpool wins two
ST. CLAIRSVILLE — The East Liverpool bowling teams swept a pair of matches with Buckeye Local Thursday.
The Potter boys won 2,048-1,652. Anthony DeMarco led the Potters with a 213 high game and a 394 series. Alfred Todd added a 218 high game and a 376 series.
East Liverpool won the girls match 1,626-1,618. Hannah Russell bowled a 156 high game for the Potters. Madyson McGaffic had a 152 high game.
