Stokes, Felton named OVAC top players

East Liverpool’s Skye Stokes and Southern Local’s Riley Felton were named Ohio Valley Athletic Conference volleyball players of the year in their respective divisions.

Stokes, a junior, played 71 sets and a had an 82.5 serving percentage. She added 215 assists, 380 kills, 20 solo blocks, seven assisted blocks and 244 digs.

Felton, a senior, was named the top player in Class 2A. She played 77 sets and had a 94 percent serving rate. She had 245 kills, 140 solo blocks, 62 assisted blocks and 74 digs.

Beaver Local’s Sarah Lowe was named Ohio co-coach of the year along with Cindy Archer of Shadyside.

Earning All-OVAC distinctions were Beaver Local’s Abby Jackson, Beaver Local’s Madison Smith, Crestview’s Brenna Auer, Crestview’s Emily Emch, Crestview’s Haley Eskra, East Liverpool’s Emma Ludwig, East Liverpool’s Skye Stokes, East Liverpool’s Terran Stacey, Southern’s Riley Felton, Southern’s Hannah Hayes, Southern’s Maddie Paxson, Oak Glen’s McKayla Goodlin and Oak Glen’s Hannah Rogers.

Eskra, Stacey and Felton will play on Team Ohio in the OVAC All-Star match set for 5 p.m. on Nov. 17 at Union Local High School.

Oak Glen’s Hanna Tice will play for Team West Virginia.
