HANOVERTON–Sam Wolfe had a hat trick as United rolled over Maplewood 7-0 in girls soccer action Wednesday.

Morgan Briceland added two goals and two assists, while Loren Swords had a goal and three assists and and Brooke Courtney had one goal and one assist.

Kylie Yost added one goal.

United will kick off tournament play at home next Thursday against either Rootstown or Crestview.

Columbiana 5, Heartland 2

COLUMBIANA–The Columbiana boys soccer team defeated Heartland Christian 5-2 Wednesday.

For the Clippers, Michael Ginocchi, Collin Schick and Drake Daugherty each had one goal. Noah Horne and Gabe Heinrich each had one goal and one assist.

Hunter Oliver and Ashton Kakavros each chipped in one assist for the Clippers. Chris Costanzo had 11 saves in goal.

Micah Direnzo notched both goals for Heartland. Zach LaBon had 14 saves in goal.

Heartland hosts Leetonia Monday.

Jackson-Milton 1

NORTH JACKSON–Leetonia edged Jackson-Milton 2-1 in boys soccer action Wednesday.

Eli Duke came through with the game-winning goal late in the second half for the Bears. Duke finished the evening with one goal and two saves.

Gavin Steiskal got Leetonia on the board with a first half goal.

Also for Leetonia, Cory Grabowski added six saves in goal.

South Range 4, Jefferson 0

GREENFORD–The South Range boys soccer team closed the regular season in strong fashion with a 4-0 victory over Jefferson Wednesday.

The Raiders finish the regular season with a 10-4-2 record overall.

Zach Hull led the way with two goals, while Canaan Johnson dished out three assists.

Logan Baer and Quinn Pierson each added one goal. Zack Schick had one assist. Keeper Matt Lucas recorded three saves in goal, with Braden Johnson also providing one save.

The Raiders are seeded third in the Niles Division II district tournament. They will host a sectional final at 3 p.m. next Saturday against either Lakeview or Cardinal Mooney.

Springfield 4, Columbiana 0

NEW MIDDLETOWN–The Springfield girls soccer team closed the regular season with a 4-0 win over Columbiana Wednesday.

The Tigers are now 10-3-2 overall.

Kylee Kosek handled the bulk of the scoring with a hat trick and an assist. Kaila LaMorticella added a goal and an assist of her own.

Rebecca Catlos had three saves in goal.
