Beavers, Potters play to draw

EAST LIVERPOOL –Beaver Local and East Liverpool’s boys soccer teams met three times so far this season and settled nothing in regulation in those three matches.

In the regular season finale on Saturday the Potters and Beavers played to a 0-0 draw at Patterson Field. The Potters and Beavers drew 1-1 on Sept. 1 and were tied after regulation during the OVAC Class 4A final on Sept. 29. The Potters later won that one in overtime.

Kamren Klakos had eight saves in goal for the Potters.

The teams will meet a fourth time at 4:30 p.m. on Tuesday at Beaver Local in a Div. II sectional opener.

Beaver Local ended the regular season 8-4-4. Chase Flati paced the Beavers with 11 goals and four assists on the season. Alex Miller had seven goals and four assists.

East Liverpool (7-3-5) was led by Ayden Payne’s 12 goals and six assists on the campaign. Izaiha Browning backed him up with 13 goals and two assists.

West Branch 4,

Beaver Local 0

CALCUTTA — West Branch’s girls soccer team closed out its undefeated run through the regular season with a 4-0 win over Beaver Local on Saturday.

Lexi Biery scored twice for the Warriors (14-0-2) while Emma Egli and Gillian Koneval had single goal tallies. Koneval had two assists and Elizabeth Ostadali and Addi Biggs each had one.

The team broke the school record for wins in a season and fewest goals allowed in the regular season. The team also tied the mark for most shutouts in a season. Koneval tied the record for goals in the season with 24.

West Branch will host Hubbard or Girard at 7 p.m. on Thursday in a Div. II sectional final.

Beaver Local (10-6) entertains Cambridge on Wednesday in Div. II sectional contest.
