Tigers cage Lions

WELLSVILLE — Wellsville made quick work of Heartland, 25-2, 25-12, 25-9, Monday.

Wellsville improves to 8-1, while Heartland falls to 6-5.

Leaders for the Tigers were Regan Pierson with two aces, three kills and 21 assists, Delaney Cochran six aces and five kills, Kiki Perry 11 kills and two blocks, Peyton Davidson two aces and three assists, Kinley Martin two aces and 10 kills, Emma Smith seven kills, Greta Cartwright eight assists and Jenna McNicol 11 digs.

Wellsville won the jayvee portion, 25-21, 25-13. The Tigers got seven kills from Kate Exline and two aces and 10 assists from Emily McNicol.

The Tigers will host Lisbon today.

East Liverpool 3, Edison 0

EAST LIVERPOOL — East Liverpool’s volleyball team breezed past Edison 25-4, 25-7, 25-12 on Monday in Buckeye 8 Athletic League play.

East Liverpool was led by Emma Ludwig’s nine kills and five aces. Skye Stokes had eight kills and seven aces. Terran Stacey had three kills and six aces. Sharnae Wilson had four kills and a block. Naudia Williams and Emily Recktenwald had two kills.

East Liverpool won the jayvee contest 25-13, 25-12. Sydney Detchon had six kills and three aces. Sydney Cooper had five kills and two aces. Jessica Mackey had four kills.

East Liverpool’s freshman won 25-3, 25-16. Naudia Williams had four kills, while Sydney Cooper added two kills.

East Liverpool hosts Beaver Local Thursday.

Indian Creek 3, Beaver 1

WINTERSVILLE –Indian Creek defeated Beaver Local 22-25, 25-21, 25-12, 25-20 on Monday in Buckeye 8 Athletic League action.

Madison Smith and Abby Jackson led the Beavers with 15 kills. Karlee Furman had three kills and four digs. Kinzie Galeoti had 13 digs. Elaina Howell added 17 assists and five digs. Madison Kendall had 16 assists. Heavyn Wolski had four kills.

Indian Creek won the jayvee match 21-25, 25-21, 25-22. Grace Hill had 10 kills. Alannah Boyd added 10 assists.

Creek also won the freshman match 25-19, 25-23. Bailey Bowersock had 12 points for Beaver.

The Beavers host John Marshall today.

United 3, Lowellville 0

HANOVERTON — United secured a 25-22, 25-8, 25-19 win over Lowellville on Monday.

United’s Rachel Bowen had four aces, 12 kills and 10 points. Savannah Burton had nine aces, four kills, two blocks and 10 points. Haley Dees had 13 assists. Lauren DelVichio had 10 assists.

United is 4-7 and hosts East Palestine today.

South Range 3, Jackson-Milton 2

NORTH JACKSON — Anna Primavera totaled 21 kills as South Range got past Jackson-Milton, 25-21, 25-19, 24-26, 25-17, 11-15, Monday.

Hannah Heikkinen contributed 13 solo bocks and 12 assists, Drew Feren 19 assistss and three aces and Mary Kuhns served four aces.

Both teams evened their marks, South Range at 5-5 and Jackson-Milton at 3-3.

For the Bluejays, Julia Bogden collected 20 points, Grace McDevitt 19 points and 10 kills, Ashley Cameron 19 kills and seven solo blocks, and Bailey Estes had 37 assists.

Jackson-Milton won the junior varsity match, 25-21, 20-25, 25-21.
