Clipper Invite on Saturday

COLUMBIANA — The 16th annual Clipper Invitational with 10 schools will be held Saturday at Columbiana High School.

Action begins at 10 a.m. at the Ward Athletic Complex with the field events, the finals in the 3200-meter run and the running preliminaries. The running finals will follow.

Schools competing include host Columbiana, East Liverpool, East Palestine, Southern Local, Wellsville, Beaver Local (those who did not qualify for the OVAC), Malvern, Valley Christian, Youngstown Ursuline, and the Akron Springfield junior varsity.

AUSTINTOWN — The 38th annual Optimist Track and Field Meet will be held Saturday at Falcon Stadium.

Action starts at 9:15 p.m. with the finals in the boys 3200-meter run, shot put, long jump and pole vault and girls discus and high jump.

Hall wins 3200 meters

EAST PALESTINE — Salem freshman Carly Hall had a winning time of 12 minutes, 19.30 seconds in the girls 3200-meter run at the Columbiana County Track and Field Meet on Tuesday. An incorrect time was listed in the story in Wednesday’s paper. Hall also ran on the first-place 3200-meter relay team.

Salem X-Tra Mile Club

SALEM — The Salem X-Tra Mile Club will meet Tuesday after the track meet in the girls locker room at Reilly Stadium.
