Salem’s season comes to an end

NILES — Salem’s girls soccer team suffered a 3-0 loss to Niles on Tuesday in a Div. II sectional final at Bo Rein Stadium.

Salem, the fifth seed, ends its season at 11-4-1.

Bethany Rasile, Emily Hess and Emily Burnham scored for the Red Dragons, 9-4-4.

Bailee Thorn had 13 saves in goal for the Quakers.

Niles, the fourth seed, moves on to meet the winner of today’s Canfield-Hubbard match on Monday.

Lordstown 1, Leetonia 0

LORDSTOWN–Leetonia’s girls soccer team season ended with a 1-0 loss to Lordstown on Wednesday in a Div. III sectional final.

Fourth-seeded Lordstown will now travel to face top-seeded Springfield on Monday.

St. Thomas Aquinas 0

NEW MIDDLETOWN–Springfield rolled over St. Thomas Aquinas on Wednesday in Div. III tournament action.

The top-seeded Springfield Tigers are now 15-2 on the season and move on to host Lordstown at 7 p.m. Monday.
