Record-setting day in EP

NORTH JACKSON — Aymeric Leroy and Josh Welch set school records in leading East Palestine past Jackson-Milton, 8-2, Wednesday.

Leroy had five goals and one assister, Parker Wisser two goals, Welch one goal and four assists and Brandon Turcola added an assist.

Leroy has 29 goals on the season, one more than the previous single-season school mark.

Welch pushed his season assist total to 21, breaking the 13-year school mark of 17.

Matt Garcia had two saves. East Palestine (9-5-1-) closes out the regular season by hosting Mineral Ridge today.

United 5, Leetonia 0

HANOVERTON — Morgan Briceland had a hat trick and assist as United downed Leetonia 5-0 on Wednesday. Molly Ellyson and Loren Swords had goals as well.

Christina Moats had two saves in goal. United is at Maplewood on Saturday.

Springfield 12, Columbiana 0

NEW MIDDLETOWN — Springfield’s girls soccer team beat Columbiana 12-0 on Wednesday to close its season.

Springfield finished 14-2 and had nine shutouts on the season.

Springfield’s Cierra Latronica had three goals and an assist while Kylee Kosek also had three goals and added two assists. Kate Denmeade added two goals and Lexi Million and Haley LaMorticella each had a goal and an assist. Jenna Hatton and Sam Smith each scored a goal.

Courtney Hughes helped out with four assists while Hayley Socha had an assist of her own.

Minerva 3, Carrollton 3

MINERVA — Minerva’s girls soccer team played to a 3-3 draw with Carrollton on Wednesday.

Ava Burman had two goals for the Lions, while Alyssa Markins had the other goal. Renee Hartong had an assist.
