Rebels chain Dogs

COLUMBIANA–Crestview ended East Palestine’s season with an 8-1 victory on Saturday in a Div. III sectional semifinal action.

Crestview Senior Luke Wickline had four goals and he now has 13 goals on the season.

Also for the Rebels (7-9-2), Mitch Lindsay, Scott Murray, Cory Dewell and Thomas Martin each had a goal.

Scott Murray had three assists and Matt Nery, Daven Manley, Tanner Daub and Colton Novak each had an assist.

For East Palestine, Josh Welch had the lone goal and Aymeric Leroy had one assist.

Matt Garcia had 15 saves for the Bulldogs.

East Palestine finished the season 10-7-1.

Crestview will travel to Mineral Ridge for a 7 p.m. district semifinal on Tuesday.

Morgan 6,

East Liverpool 0

MCCONNELSVILLE — East Liverpool’s boys soccer tournament run came to a halt with a 6-0 loss to Morgan on Saturday in a Div. II sectional final.

The Raiders got on the board first with 24:38 left in the first half on a Darian Bowen goal. Kai Mayle scored on a header with 16:23 left in the first half to make it 2-0. Mayle later assisted on an Ethan Newton goal to make it 3-0 at the break.

Bowen added two more goals in the second half and Mayle wrapped up the scoring with a goal with 5:29 to go.

That was Morgan’s 11th win of the season which is a school record.

Morgan will play River View at a site to be announced on Tuesday.

East Liverpool ends its season at 12-4-1.

South Range 4, West Branch 1

BELOIT–South Range’s boys soccer team defeated West Branch 4-1 on Saturday to advance to the Div. II district semifinals.

For South Range, Canaanan Johnson led the scoring efforts with two goals. Quinn Pierson and Mitch McConnell both added a goal for the raiders.

McConnell had two assists and Reese Babuder had an assist for South Range.

West Branch’s lone goal came from David Sutton.

In goal, Jared Butler had 11 saves for the Warriors.

West Branch finishes the season at 10-6-2.

South Range is at second-seed Lakeview at 7 p.m. on Tuesday.
