Potter golf team stops Southern

EAST LIVERPOOL–The East Liverpool boys golf team beat Southern 180-213 Wednesday at East Liverpool Country Club.

For the Potters (9-5) Josh Recktenwald shot a 45, Alex Tambellini 48, Brennan O’Hara 48, Cameron Beverly 52 and Greg Baumgarner 56.

For the Indians, Nick Mey shot a 47, Josh Boyle 52, Tanner Patterson 56 and Jared Garner 58.

East Liverpool takes on Edison and Beaver Local in a tri match Monday.

Columbiana 170,

Lisbon 173

LISBON–Columbiana slipped by Lisbon 170-173 in golf action Monday.

The Clippers were led by Jared Wilson with a 36, while Seth Ross shot 41, Nate Whitehead 46 and Sean Whitehead 48.

Lisbon’s Branson Brownfield was the medalist with a 35. Sam Tinsley added a 42, while Austin Craig shot 46 and Josh Entrikin added a 50.

Raiders lose a close one

CORTLAND–The Lakeview golf team beat South Range and Niles by the slimmest of margins in a tri-match Wednesday at Walnut Run.

Lakeview finished with a total of 165, while South Range and Niles tied with totals of 166.

For South Range, John Popa led the way with a 38 while Tom Roux added a 41 and Ryan Turnbull shot a 43. Also for the Raiders, Nick Fromel and Pat Kennedy each shot 44. Gabrielle DiCesare finished with a 47.

Lakeview’s Preston Sheets was the medalist with a 37.

The Raiders are now 9-4 overall.

Marlington 176, Salem 223

SALEM–The Salem girls golf team fell to Marlington 176-223 Wednesday at Salem Hills.

Kelly Hutton shot a 51 to lead the Quakers. Also for Salem, Makayla Stoffer shot 54, Camryn Riley 55, Sloan Rudibaugh 63, Lexi Miller 64 and Molly McGaffick 70.

Marlington’s Kaitlyn Engelhart was the medalist with a 43.

Minerva 189, Salem 225

MINERVA — Minerva’s girls golf team beat Salem 189-225 on Tuesday at Edgewater Golf Club.

For Minerva, Jordan Van Meter had a 38, Baeli Waller 48, Kennedy Grogg 51 and Megan Keister 52.

For Salem, Makayla Stoffer had a 50, Kelly Hutton 50, Camryn Riley 62 and Emily Weikert 63.
