Salem tickets on sale

SALEM — Tickets for Friday’s East Palestine at Salem football game are available in the Salem High School athletic department, Quaker Village and at Kendricks Corner. Cost is $7 for adults, $4 for students and $9 for reserve seats. Senior citizens can purchase a ticket for $1 in the high school athletic department only. All tickets at the gate are $7.

Wellsville presale tickets

WELLSVILLE — Presale tickets for Friday’s Wellsville at Beaver Local football game will be on sale at the Wellsville High School office from 4 to 6 p.m. Thursday and 1 to 3 p.m. Friday. Tickets are $5 for adults and $4 for students. All tickets at the gate will be $6.

Salem reserve seats on sale

Chetock hits hole-in-one

CHIPPEWA, Pa. — Bill Chetock of Wellsville hit his first hole-in-one on Aug. 16 at Black Hawk Golf Course.

He used a 7-iron to ace the 140-yard third hole.

Morris out front in Akron

AKRON — Zach Morris of Salem took third place in his age group at the Akron Goodyear 10K on Aug. 12.

His time of 38 minutes, 28 seconds placed 14th out of 1,267 total runners and 11th out of 475 male runner.

Morris is a junior at Kent State University and a graduate of Salem High School, where he was a member of the cross country and track teams.

He is the son of George and Coby Morris of Salem.

Kids Days in Leetonia

LEETONIA — The Leetonia Sportsman’s Club will be holding its 42nd annual Kids Day on Sept. 23 at the club’s grounds along East High Street. There will be shooting, archery and fishing events for all kids for ages 6 to 15. Trophies and prizes will be given. A weiner roast will also be held. Registration starts at 9:30 a.m. and will run continously throughout the day. Kids Day is held in conjunction will National Hunting and Fishing Day. Salem family passes on sale

SALEM — The Salem athletic department is offering a family pass that is good for the entire season. Cost is $275. Student passes are $50. Senior citizen passes allow seniors entry to games for $1. Salem softball league meeting

SALEM — The Salem Parks and Rec fall slow pitch softball league will meet at 6:30 p.m. Sept. 24 in the Salem Memorial Building. Golf as they did back in the day

COLUMBIANA — The inaugural Blast from the Past hickory golf tournament will be played at 3 p.m. Sunday at the Valley Golf Club. It will be a 9-hole, two-person best ball event using hickory clubs and gutta percha balls. Clubs and balls will be provided, so anyone wishing to golf as they did back in the day is welcome.
