Lisbon outlasts Ridge

MINERAL RIDGE — Lisbon outlasted Mineral Ridge 20-25, 25-23, 25-16, 19-25, 15-9 in volleyball action Wednesday.

For the Blue Devils, Kimmi Wiggers had six kills, eight digs and three aces, while Maddie Liberati had 10 kills and 14 digs. On the defensive side, Hailee Carpenter had 35 digs for the Blue Devils. Izzy Perez added 21 assists and nine digs.

Lisbon won the junior varsity match, 26-24, 25-13. Natalie Ammon and Cadee Johnson each had five kills and five digs for the Blue Devils. Taylor DeLand added five kills and 10 digs.

Southern 3, Columbiana 1

COLUMBIANA — Lizzie Willis, Maddie Paxson and Erin Boyle each scored 12 points as Southern Local beat Columbiana, 25-17, 20-25, 25-22, 25-20, Wednesday.

Willis also had 38 attacks and 13 kills and Paxson 35 attacks and nine kills. Anna Sevek totaled 17 attacks, six kills and four solo blocks; Riley Felton 17 attacks, four kills and two solo blocks; and Kyleigh Ketchum 72 sets and 23 assists.

For the Clippers, Morgan Highley had eight kills and 23 digs; Rae Dixon 21 digs and three aces and Alexis Cross 10 kills and 20 digs.

Southern Local improves to 2-0 heading into Tuesday’s match at Wellsville.

Columbiana won the junior varsity match, 25-14, 25-8.

Trinity Strohecker had 12 points for the Clippers.

Delainey Mellott had seven points and 27 set and Cheyenne Utt eight spikes and two kills for the Indians.

Columbiana won the freshman match 25-18, 25-8. Maddie Witherow had 10 points for the Clippers.

Columbiana is at Western Reserve Friday.

Sebring 3, Leetonia 0

SEBRING — Sebring won its first match of the season by sweeping Leetonia, 25-20, 25-20, 25-19, Wednesday.

Izzy Jackson led the Trojans with 14 points, six aces and three kills and Aebi D’Ostroph had 12 points and 15 assists. Olivia Woods added six kills, Kayla Jones four kills and 11 digs and Emma Kemp 21 digs.

Sebring (1-1) will host Campbell Memorial today.

Beaver freshman

CALCUTTA–The Beaver Local freshman volleyball team beat Boardman 25-20, 20-17 Wednesday. Leading the Beavers was Kami Beohm with 10 points. Erin O’Hara and Cierrah Thurik each added four points.
