Indians cage Lions; Wilson tops Ursuline

SALEM — Southern Local evened its season record by topping Heartland 193-246 on Monday at Salem Hills Golf & Country Club.

For Southern (4-4), Josh Boyle had a 48, Tanner Patterson 49, Nick May 47 and Jared Garner 49.

For Heartland, Connor McIntosh had a 57, Devin Sirota 63, Nick Jessop 59 and Ben Jessop 67.

Southern hosts East Palestine today.

Ursuline Invitational

YOUNGSTOWN — Columbiana senior Jared Wilson captured another victory Monday.

Wilson was the medalist during the 16-team Ursuline Invitational at Youngstown Country Club.

He fired a 2-under-par 69 and had a par of the first playoff hole to beat Boardman senior Kade Kreps.

Boardman, which finished sixth in the Division I state tournament last year, topped the field with a 288. Columbiana was 11th with a 343.

The Clippers also got a 78 from Seth Ross, 97 from Nate Whitehead and 99 from Tyler Andersen.

Columbiana will play Toronto today at Dyer Country Club.

Beaver 159, Edison 179

CALCUTTA — Grant Hall shot a 37 and Cameron Lane 38 in leading Beaver Local past Edison, 159-179, at Beaver Creek Meadows on Monday.

T.J. Wilson followed with a 40 and Ryan Zywiec 44 as the Beavers improved to 7-0 on the season.

For Edison, Ryan Higgs had a 43, Andrew Pugh and Andrew Kinney 44s and George Ash 48.

Beaver Local will host Heartland Christian on Wednesday.

Crestview 180,

ELO Christian 253

CALCUTTA — Crestview’s golf team bested East Liverpool Christian 180-253 on Monday at Beaver Creek Meadows.

For Crestview (8-2), Ethan McCloskey had a 27, Nate Wisbith 44, A.J. Robb 49, Hudson Straney 50 and Ariana Rodi 50.

For East Liverpool Christian, Owen Bouscher had a 59, Wesley Bouscher 61, Erica Tenney 67 and Anthony Sachs 66.

Columbiana 187, Lakeview 207

CORTLAND — Columbiana’s girls golf team went on the road and beat Lakeview 187-207 on Monday at Tamer Win.

For the Clippers (5-2), Taylor Ross had a 41, Morgan Highley 46, Lauren Stauffer 49 and Abbi Hawkins 51.

Columbiana faces Lowellville at Bedford Trails on Wednesday.

Beaver 174, Carrollton 187

CALCUTTA –Beaver Local’s girls golf team secured a 174-187 win over Carrollton on Monday at Turkana.

For Beaver Local, Carsyn Hoppel had a 40, Hayley Phillips 43, McKenna Kyler 43 and Bekah Kyler 48.

For Carrollton, Grace Bartlow had a 40, Abby Shockey 48, Erin Shockey 48 and Emily Kean 51.

Jackson-Milton 207, Sebring 232

NORTH BENTON — Jackson-Milton got the best of Sebring for a 207-232 win at Berlin Lake Country Club on Monday.

Kent Gross led the Bluejays with a 45, followed by Hannah Pietro with a 52 and Mason McDevitt and Joey Williams with 55s.

For Sebring, Collin Baia had a 49, Connor Shepherd 51, Joey Clark 56 and Jake Hunter 68.

Jackson-Milton moves to 4-7 and Sebring is 0-14.

Sebring will play at Mineral Ridge on Thurday.

East Palestine 183, Toronto 183

NEGLEY — East Palestine played Toronto at the East Palestine Country Club on Monday.

For East Palestine, Nick Yarosz had a 42, Connor Velchek 46, Noah Sneddon 47 and Nick Welch 48.

For Toronto, Connor Suffoletta shot a 40, Cole Degarmo 46, Hunter Keenan 48 and Brennan Suffoletta 49.

Toronto will host Columbiana today.

Weirton Tri

WEIRTON –Weirton Madonna and Weir topped Oak Glen on Monday at Williams Country Club.

Madonna had a 176, Weir 192 and Oak Glen 223.

For the Golden Bears, For Oak Glen, Josh Cline had a 45, Jacob Gillings 55, Adam Hall 58 and Carter Blake 65.
