Belanger first for Eagles

ZOARVILLE–The United girls and bound track teams geared up for this week’s Columbiana County Track meet with a pair of solid finishes at the Tusky Valley Invitational on Friday.

The girls team took home a fourth place finish with a total of 71 points. The Eagles were led by Megan Belanger, who won the discus with a toss of 123-feet-5. Belanger was also third in the shot put (29-8).

Mariah Eisenbraun also enjoyed a good meet for the Eagles, as she finished second in the 100 dash (12.6 seconds) and 200 dash (26.5). Camryn Jarrett also came away with a second place finish in the high jump (5-0).

The United boys team took home a fifth place finish with 38 points. Cody Cooper earned a runner-up finish in the discus with a toss of 131-feet-9. Landon Baker took home third in the high jump (5-6).
