Oak Glen baseball, softball teams win two games apiece

FAIRMONT, W. Va. — The Oak Glen baseball team defeated two teams in a doubleheader on Saturday at East Fairmont High School.

First, the Golden Bears took care of East Fairmont 8-6 and later defeated Ritchie County 14-4 in six innings. They tallied 13 hits in each game offensively.

In the first game, Robert Bozek had three hits, including a double, and three RBIs. Ty Logston also tallied three hits along with two RBIs. Noah Feicht started and struck out six while walking three. Lance Collins picked up the win in relief. Josh Cline recorded the save.

In the finale, Marques McHaffie led offensively with three hits and five RBIs. Cline recorded three hits as well and two RBIs. Feicht added two hits and two RBIs. Garrett Brewer started and picked up the victory, striking out eight and walking three in the process. Kaleb Dailey struck out six and walked four in relief.

Oak Glen travels to Madonna today.

Oak Glen at North Marion

FARMINGTON, W. Va. — The Oak Glen softball team split a doubleheader with North Marion on Saturday.

In the first game, Oak Glen lost 7-1 thanks to eight errors recorded. Eileen Flowers has two singles for the Golden Bears. Alyssa Creese had a single and a double.

Oak Glen looked better with a 9-1 win in five innings in the second game. Hannah Clunk picked up another victory, striking out 12 in the complete game. Clunk also tallied three singles at the plate. Hannah Walker collected two doubles and a single. Creese collected two singles, while Hanna Patterson and Graci Tice had two apiece.

Oak Glen travels to Weir today.
