Crestview sweeps Jackson-Milton

NORTH JACKSON – The Crestview volleyball team shut down Jackson-Milton 25-14, 25-16, 25-21 on Tuesday in Inter-Tri County League upper tier action.

For the Rebels (3-2), Brooke Harper had 10 kills, eight digs and four aces, Taylor Oliver had four aces, Ali Smith had three aces, Mackenzie Daub had three blocks and three assists, Lauren Harrold had six kills, one block and one assist, and Bri Cope had 46 sets and 16 assists.

For the Blue Jays (0-3, 0-2), Julissa Tomaino had 11 points, six assists and two aces, Lydia Fabry had 11 points and an ace, and Sierra Huff had six kills and five blocks.

Crestview also won the junior varsity match 25-14, 25-18.

The Rebels host East Palestine on Thursday.

Springfield 3, Lisbon 0

LISBON-Springfield beat Lisbon 25-18, 25-18, 25-17 in volleyball action Tuesday.

For the Tigers, Callie Ford had 10 points, 12 kills and 25 digs, Elizabeth Thompson had 24 assists and Brianna Yemma had 12 digs.

For Lisbon, Taylor Siefke had 11 kills and nine digs, Karlee Pezzano had 26 assists and seven digs, Tiffany Ketchum had 18 digs and Hannah Hiscox had six kills.

Springfield won the jayvee match 25-22 26-28, 25-16.

Peyton Blackburn had five kills for the Blue Devils.

United 3,

East Palestine 0

EAST PALESTINE-United beat East Palestine 25-21, 25-15, 25-20 in olleyball action Tuesday.

Jessica Leake led the Bulldogs with six points and five kills, while Kerrigan Wischerman had four points and eight assists.

East Palestine won the jayvee match 20-25, 25-15, 28-26.

Marlaina Frye led the Bulldogs with 19 points, while Haileigh Hawk had 13 points.

Mineral Ridge 3,

South Range 2

GREENFORD-The South Range volleyball team squandered a two-set lead as the Raiders were stunned by Mineral Ridge 21-25, 18-25, 26-24, 25-19, 15-8 Tuesday.

The Raiders were led by Jordan Youngs with nine points, 20 kills and 15 digs, Grace Hiner with 10 kills and eight blocks and Eliza Garlough with eight points and 32 digs.

The Raiders travel to Springfield Thursday.

Western Reserve 3, Columbiana 1

BERLIN CENTER – The Western Reserve volleyball team kept its undefeated record intact Tuesday as the Blue Devils knocked off Columbiana 21-25, 25-12, 25-13, 25-16, handing the Clippers their first loss of the season.

For the Blue Devils (5-0, 2-0), Rachel Maslach had 23 kills, 17 assists, eight points, four digs and an ace, Aleah Hughes had 18 kills, eight points, six digs, an assist, an ace and a block, and Sydney Miller had six points, five kills, five digs and four assists.

For the Clippers (5-1, 1-1), Shayla Ray had 16 kills, nine digs, four points, four blocks and one ace, Hannah Hum had six points and 13 digs, and Lauren Schluetter had 15 assists, 10 digs and two points.

Western Reserve also won the junior varsity game 25-23, 25-27, 25-17.

Both are back in action Thursday as the Clippers head to Sebring and the Blue Devils host Leetonia.

Wellsville 3, Sebring 0

WELLSVILLE-Wellsville powered past Sebring 25-7, 25-5, 25-10 in volleyball action Tuesday.

Leading the way for the Tigers (3-1, 1-1 ITCL lower tier) were Johanna Stokes and Jayla Martin each with 12 kills, while Angelica Scarabino had nine aces, Shayna Hamilton and Maria Abdallah each had three kills and Ashley Bennett and Payton Munoz each had six kills.

Wellsville won the jayvee game 25-5, 25-19. Sydni Hamilton had six aces for the Tigers, while Kira Roe had three kills and three assists.

The Tigers host Wellsville Thursday.

Southern 3,

Heartland Christian 1

SALINEVILLE-The Southern volleyball team improved to 5-1 overall by defeating Heartland 25-16, 25-22, 20-25, 27-25 Tuesday.

For the Indians, Abby Smalley had 19 kills, five aces and six digs, Anna Sevek had 15 kills and seven digs and Hannah Brothers had 36 assists.

For Heartland (5-2), Bonnie Flynn had eight kills and 18 digs and four aces, Kristen Osborn had 24 kills and nine digs and Ginny Burgess had 29 assists.

The Indians travel to Wellsville Tursday.

Leetonia 3,

Lowellville 0

LEETONIA-The Leetonia volleyball team swept aside Lowellville 25-21, 25-14, 25-16 Tuesday.

Erynn Jones led the Bears (3-4) with 10 points, six kills and seven digs, while Kristy Eckman had nine points, seven kills and six blocks and Ariel Smith had 15 points and 15 assists.

The Rockets (1-3) were led by Grace Sotlar with seven kills and eight digs.

Leetonia is at Western Reserve Thursday.

Indian Creek 3,

Beaver Local 0

WINTERSVILLE-The Beaver Local volleyball team lost to Indian Creek tonight 17-25, 9-25, 18-25 Tuesday.

The Beavers (3-3) were led by Tannar Dolhun with four kills and four digs, Jordan Simpson with eight digs nd Ashlyn Milhoan with five kills and nine digs.

Beaver Local won the jayvee game 25-18, 25-17 to move to 6-0.

Sydney Bowyer led the Beavers with 13 points.

West Branch 3,

Alliance 0

BELOIT – The West Branch volleyball team knocked off Alliance 25-16, 28-26, 25-23 on Tuesday in Northeastern Buckeye Conference action.

For the Warriors (4-3, 2-1), Whitney Wallace had 12 points, 10 kills and six aces, Pavin Heath had 29 assists, Sydney Townes had 14 kills and 15 digs, Paid Walsh had five blocks and Kaylee Manning had 20 digs.

For the Aviators (5-3, 1-2), Riley Grisez had seven points, Sam Jackson had 27 assists, Mary Jackson had 15 kills and LeAnne Novak had seven digs.

West Branch also won 25-15, 24-26, 25-14 in junior varsity action as Claire Smith led the Warriors with 16 points.

The Warriors host Marilington on Thursday.

Carrollton 3, Salem 0

CARROLLTON-The Salem volleyball team was swept by Carrollton 25-22, 26-24, 25-18 Tuesday.

Addie Borland led Carrollton with nine points and 12 kills.

Salem lost the jayvee game 25-21, 25-22.

Chloe Cheresne led the Quakers with eight kills, while Ashley Foster had nine assists and Alexis Cresanto had five digs.
