Quakers kick up first win

SALEM – Salem’s boys soccer team came back from down a goal early on to whip Louisville 3-1 on Tuesday at Reilly Stadium.

Goals came from Braydon Gipson, Owen Ellis and Andrew Pasco.

Assists were provided by Brad Dustman and Branson Panezott. Saves Cody Ewing with nine saves.

The Quakers host Alliance next Tuesday.

Crestview 7,

Jackson-Milton 1

COLUMBIANA – Crestview’s boys spread the scoring around in a 7-1 win over Jackson-Milton on Monday.

E.J. Miller had two goals and two assists for the Rebels, 2-0. Mitchel Genova, Tobin Goss, Joey Mellinger, Josh McGoogan and Dustin Wickline also had goals.

McGoogan also recorded two assists with Mellinger, Wickline and Goss recording one assist.

Crestview hosts East Palestine at 5 p.m. on Wednesday.

Oak Glen 7, Jefferson County Christian 1

NEW MANCHESTER, W.Va. – Oak Glen’s boys soccer team knocked off Jefferson County Christian 7-1 on Monday.

Nate Fryer scored a hat trick for the Golden Bears. Addison Sayre had two goals and an assist, while Cody Waggoner and James Crain had one goal each. Nate Bennett also had an assist along with nine saves in goal.

Beaver Local 3,

Oak Glen 1

CALCUTTA-Freshman Alexa Schwerha came through with one goal and two assists as the Beaver Local girls soccer team defeated Oak Glen 3-1 Tuesday.

Stefani Watson and Alex Eisenhart chipped in one goal apiece as the beaver move to 3-1 overall.

Emily Bodo had the lone goal for the Golden Bears.

Beaver Local hosts Steubenville Catholic Central on Saturday.

Marlington 3,

West Branch 2

ALLIANCE – West Branch’s boys soccer team fell to Marlington 3-2 in an Northeastern Buckeye Conference match on Tuesday.

The Dukes were winners in the jayvee match as well 4-3.

East Liverpool 6,

Indian Creek 3

WINTERSVILLE – The East Liverpool boys soccer team maintained a 5-0 first half lead Tuesday to knock off Indian Creek 6-3.

Klayton Kosak and Tyler Recktenwald (4-0) led the Potters with two goals each, along with a goal each from Briar Meek and Shane Talbott. Alex Potts had two assists, along with an assist each from Kosak and Nick Pelley, and Zach Adkins had eight saves.

The Potters host Wheeling Central Catholic on Thursday.

Minerva 3, Alliance 0

MINERVA – The Minerva boys soccer team shut out Alliance 3-0 Tuesday at Hines Field in Northeastern Buckeye Conference action.

Tyler Stewart led the Lions (3-0, 1-0) with two goals, followed by Boomer Hearn with a goal and an assist. C.J. Lee and Austin Lowmiller each had an assist, while Justin Schotts had seven saves.

The Lions return to action next Tuesday as they head to Marlington.

Steubenville 6, Edison 0

STEUBENVILLE -The Steubenville boys soccer team shut out Edison 6-0 on Tuesday.
