East Liverpool 3, Edison 1

RICHMOND – Caitlyn Davis had 21 points and 14 kills to lead East Liverpool to a 25-12, 25-17, 24-26, 25-20 win over Edison on Thursday.

Madison White added nine points, 10 assists and three kills. Sierra Voorhees had 18 assists and eight points. Lindsey Baker had 17 kills and Paige Craig eight kills.

Edison won the jayvee portion, 25-21, 25-21.

East Liverpool is at Weirton on Wednesday.

Springfield 3, Crestview 2

NEW MIDDLETOWN – Springfield outlasted Crestview, 25-13, 14-25, 25-20, 14-25, 15-11, Thursday.

Callie Ford had 15 points, nine kills and 48 passes for the Tigers, who are 4-2 overall and 2-0 in the ITCL upper tier. Emily Stacy collected 15 points; Elizabeth Thompson 12 points, five kills, five blocks and 26 assists; Kasey Kohler 12 kills, six blocks and five points; Quinn Crowe 12 kills and three blocks; Caitlyn Cyrus 15 blocks and five kills; and Courtney Cyrus 14 blocks.

For Crestview, Bri Cope had 15 points, 38 assists and 11 digs; Ali Smith 10 points and five kills; Abbie Gallagher nine points, 14 kills and 15 digs; Lauren Harold 14 kills and three blocks; MacKenzie Daub nine kills and six blocks; Emma Smith 11 kills; and Whitney Cope had 11 assists.

Springfield also won the junior varsity match, 26-24, 31-29, as Maddie Laboy scored eight points.

Springield will play at Champion on Saturday.

Wellsville 3, Beaver 0

CALCUTTA – Wellsville overtook Beaver Local 25-22, 25-21, 25-13 Thursday at Beaver Local.

Leaders for Beaver (2-2) were Tannar Dolhun with 13 spikes, five kills, three blocks and five points; Ashlyn Milhoan 12 spikes, four kills, two assists, seven digs, one block and seven points.

For Wellsville (2-1), Shayna Hamilton had 34 assists, Johnna Stokes 10 kills, Ashley Bennett six kills, Maria Abdalla three kills, three assists, Jayla Martin 17 kills and Angelica Scarbino 17 digs and Payton Munoz four kills.

Wellsville hosts Sebring on Tuesday.

In jayvee action, Beaver beat Wellsville 25-5 and 25-15. Their record is 4-0. Carmen had 17 points.

Heartland 3, Ursuline 0

COLUMBIANA – The Heartland Christian volleyball team improved to 5-1 by downing Youngstown Ursuline, 25-11, 25-23, 25-14,

Kristen Osborn totaled 24 kils and 11 digs for the Lions. Madison Chapman collected 15 points and four aces; Jacquelyn Chapman nine points, seven kills and four blocks; Ginny Burgess eight point, 31 assists and 16 digs; and Bonnie Flynn 10 points, four kills and 17 digs.

Alena Burzynski topped Ursuline with 10 points and 17 digs.

Ursuline won the junior varsity match in two games.

Heartland will play at Southern Local on Tuesday.

Southern 3, Sebring 0

SALINEVILLE – Southern continued its good start to the volleyball season with a 25-15, 25-8, 25-5 win over Sebring on Thursday.

For Southern (4-1, 4-0 in the Inter-Tri County League lower tier), Anna Sevek had 13 kills and three blocks; Abby Smalley five kills, 10 aces; Natalie Utt six kills, four aces; Lizzy Willis two kills and nine aces.

Southern won the jayvee match 25-12, 25-15. Natalie May had seven kills and three aces. Siera Boyle added six aces and two kills.

Southern hosts Heartland Tuesday.

Louisville 3, Salem 0

LOUISVILLE – It didn’t go so hot for the Salem volleyball team with its road trip to Louisville on Thursday.

The Leopards, considered one of the better teams in the Northeastern Buckeye Conference, knocked off the Quakers 25-16, 25-12, 25-15.

Salem fell to 4-2, 1-1.

Louisville is 2-2, 1-1.

Salem hosts Carrollton on Tuesday.

West Branch 1

CARROLLTON – Carrollton got the best of West Branch 27-25, 25-20, 25-16, 17-25 on Thursday.

Whitney Wallace had 16 points to lead Branch, 2-2, 1-1. Pavin Heath had 33 assists. Sydney Townes recorded 24 kills and Kaylee Manning had 31 digs.

Carrollton won the jayvee match, 25-19, 25-13.
